Arenas tweets, then doesn't, on Crittenton

If you missed it, Javaris Crittenton is tied up in a pretty awful situation right now. He was arrested Friday night for allegedly shooting and killing a mother in a drive-by in Atlanta.

Crittenton of course made a name for himself in the NBA in two very bad ways: He was a first-round bust and he brought a gun into a locker room. The other player in the gun situation was Gilbert Arenas, who put out a simple tweet in regards to the Crittenton news. (Via Jose3030):

Arenas quickly deleted the tweet, probably for smart reasons. Hard to really know what Arenas meant by that tweet, so I'll just leave it alone. Draw your own conclusions there, I suppose.

As the Washington Post notes, Crittenton attempted a comeback with the Charlotte Bobcats and seemed to have his head on straight and his act together. He said then, "Use wisdom in everything and just don’t get caught up in foolishness and nonsense and crazy people around you ... It was a bad decision on both ends and we’re trying to move forward with our careers and our lives.”

For shame. There's still a lot of information to process and nothing is set in stone, but it's not looking good for Crittenton. And even worse, it looks like he may not have learned his lesson.

We really shouldnt judge people like that, I think we all knew what he meant  its the thoughts not the words that are used that matter anyway and its spelled "grammar" by the way....

Here's the thing about slang.....slang pertains to the spoken vernacular.  This recent fashion amongst the under-educated, to convert spoken slang terms to written communications, appears to me to be plain laziness.  It's easier to just type the words like you sound them out, then to actually take the time to type them how they are spelled, or even have a robust understanding of spelling or grammar in general.   T
his way you can stop learning around the 3rd grade and still tweet actively.  The good news is, we are going to take away this criminal's ability to be free for the better part of the rest of his life.  This makes me feel better about the world, really.

I almost tinkled on myself reading this post.  "A mother of four was TAGICALLY murdered".  I'll give you this, you have the courage of your conviction.  When you stand up for poor grammar you back it up with commitment.  Thanks for the laugh, keep on keepin' it real.

What's wrong with you people on here? It's a message board, not an english or spelling contest! It's for people's thoughts, ideas, and opinions! Please get over yourselves and move on. A mother of four was tagically murdered, and your main concern is someone's english and spelling abilities? Now that is stupid and ignorant!

Why are people being critical of a tweet.  Most people tweet with their phones and most people aren't 100% grammatically correct when they use their phones to text or even send emails.  I think the bigger issue is the mystery behind what Arenas was considering tweeting.  I wonder if he knows something or if he was just going to say something about how he feels about that situation.  I hope I haven't made any major gramatical errors.  I don't have my MLA handbook with me.

Sadly you're correct ! I work with people who cannot calculate fractions or percentages and we wonder why America is in such bad shape ! Our public educational system should be held in contempt of miseducating our people !

Our educational system is a total 100% failure !
