You were starting to believe all the talk that nobody cared about the ongoing NBA lockout, weren't you? Well, cameras found at least one person that still cares. And he cares deeply.

President of the United States Barack Obama told reporters at a Florida fundraiser on Tuesday that the ongoing NBA lockout -- which resulted in the cancellation of the first two weeks of the regular season on Monday -- has left him "heartbroken."

"I have to say, that backstage I had a chance to see [Orlando Magic center] Dwight Howard," Obama said. "Dwight is a great friend. I told him, 'I'm a little heartbroken that the NBA season is getting delayed here.' I'm hoping those guys are back on the court soon."

Obama made the comments at a fundraiser for his 2012 presidential re-election campaign at Orlando's downtown Sheraton. Tickets for the event, according to the Orlando Sentinel, cost between $44 and $250.

A basketball die-hard, Obama never strays far from the NBA game. In the last twelve months alone, the President has zinged Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo over his poor shooting, awarded legendary center Bill Russell with the Medal of Freedom, talked some trash with Los Angeles Lakes guard Kobe Bryant and invited Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant to play with him in an informal pickup game.

Here's video of Obama's remarks uploaded by YouTube user dentoneable.

Oh how, Oh how, will those poor NBA Millionaires make it financially without an NBA season. I can totally understand Mr. Obama how you would be so "heartbroken". I know that you will do whatever is in your power to get the players back on the hardwood. You might even propose legislation to take over the National Basketball Association like you did with the Health Care Industry and General Motors. That'll make sure you never miss your precious games. I mean as president your only job is to fill out brackets for March Madness, Watch NBA Games, Host Super Bowl Champions, Throw out the first pitch on opening day and all star games, and to be an ESPN analyst. At least if there is an NBA lockout, you can call all of the players over to the White House at the taxpayer's expense of course and have your own National Barack Association. Then as the kicker you can coach one of the All-Star Teams and Michelle Obama's brother Craig Robinson can coach the other. It'd be awfully nice if you felt as heartbroken over the 9.2% of people who are unemployed nation wide as you do these spoiled NBA thugs, but that is simply too much to ask. I can assure you that over half of the people won't be heartbroken if you are voted out as president next year. Then when you are. This heartbreak you feel over the NBA will pale in conparison.

Who are these "thugs" you speak of? Let me guess, Because Obama is black..in your eyes, and the other racists who attack black athletes on a daily basis here at CBS Sports, he is a thug as well?

Some of you Americans are idiots. You attack presidents and people in office for being old, out of touch..can't relate. When a guy comes along who seems to enjoy things that every day Americans enjoy, and do...you attack him. Are you people ever happy? are you ever content? I figured after I commented some common sense about how the NBA and all pro sports inject millions into the economy some of you would lighten up..... hop off your soap box and use your head. Of course, everyone is entitled to there opinion....but I get sick of these "thug" comments and about NBA guys being over paid, last time I checked NBA players weren't the only ones being paid large amounts of money to play a sport.

The guy got into office , so atleast some of you must have voted for the man. You all loved him back then, he could do no wrong...but just like any american president, now you can't stand anything he says or agree with anything he stands for. You sure are a whiney bunch of spolied brats aren't you.

I don't give a crap if he is heartbroken at all. How many people do you think have lost everything in their life because they can't find a descent job.  How heartbroken do you think they are. Obama sucks, plain and simple. I voted for the other guy...Obama isn't my President.

Man I thought I've read it all.  He should be "heartbroken" over the condition this country is in.  The NBA shouldn't even be on his radar.

I hope he is heartbroken for the little guy..The restaurants and bars near the arena's that are losing customers and the people who work in the arena's who are not working.  There are alot more people affected by this lockout then the 12/15 players on each team making millions of dollars to play agame..I could name so many more people losing theyre cuz of this its pretty sad...
