You were starting to believe all the talk that nobody cared about the ongoing NBA lockout, weren't you? Well, cameras found at least one person that still cares. And he cares deeply.

President of the United States Barack Obama told reporters at a Florida fundraiser on Tuesday that the ongoing NBA lockout -- which resulted in the cancellation of the first two weeks of the regular season on Monday -- has left him "heartbroken."

"I have to say, that backstage I had a chance to see [Orlando Magic center] Dwight Howard," Obama said. "Dwight is a great friend. I told him, 'I'm a little heartbroken that the NBA season is getting delayed here.' I'm hoping those guys are back on the court soon."

Obama made the comments at a fundraiser for his 2012 presidential re-election campaign at Orlando's downtown Sheraton. Tickets for the event, according to the Orlando Sentinel, cost between $44 and $250.

A basketball die-hard, Obama never strays far from the NBA game. In the last twelve months alone, the President has zinged Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo over his poor shooting, awarded legendary center Bill Russell with the Medal of Freedom, talked some trash with Los Angeles Lakes guard Kobe Bryant and invited Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant to play with him in an informal pickup game.

Here's video of Obama's remarks uploaded by YouTube user dentoneable.

So because the man makes some positive comments about a game that generates millions of dollars in like 29 different cities in America and your going to attack him for it? So because he talks about something other than wars your going to attack him? I guarantee most of you are Americans, you guys voted him into office..don't whine so much. A lot of communities are going to be missing out on a lot of money if this season doesn't kick off. Sporting events give the economy a great boost from the teams themselves alone. Think about it, hotels, restauraunts this guys go too. Arenas being packed, the employees that will lose there jobs. Saddens me people just run off at the mouth over a headline of a story and don't actually do a little bit of thinking.

There's  a hell of a lot more to lose than just NBA guys making millions not being paid, pull your head out of the sand and use your brain..that's what it is there for.

bombers, in my opinion, hit it on the head.....this self proclaimed KING B. Hussein is more concerned with the shortcomings of the nba than anything else....utterly ridiculous......the owners have every right to ensure they make money..especiall the smaller franchises who are beginning to notice that the so called STAR players (think another self proclaimed KING) collaborate with their so called HOMIES to try to monopolize their own teams.....that is not how a TRUE sports league rules (think NFL!)....13 months of self proclaimed KINGSHIP....and the countdown begins..

I'm heartbroken over Obama's healthcare debacle. I'm hearthbroken over the union corruption that props up this administration. I'm heartbroken over THREE YEARS of decline in the economy under his watch.
