With no training camp or preseason calling his name just yet thanks to the ongoing NBA lockout, New York Knicks All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony was in Times Square this week to promote a new product "Power Grip" and to discuss how he is keeping himself busy with CBSSports.com's Harry Cicma.

"Right now, I'm just training, trying to stay ahead of the game, so when something [does] happen and they uplift the lockout I'll be ready," Anthony said. "[The lockout] is unfortunate, it's something that we don't want to deal with, but it is what it is right now and hopefully we get it done soon, get this problem resolved."

To pass the time, Anthony and his psuedo-celebrity wife, LaLa Vazques, have taken in some tennis.

"Serena Williams is one of my wife's best friends so I try to support her out there," Anthony said. "I watch it, I watched [Rafael] Nadal vs. [Roger] Federer. I went to the U.S. Open last year. I try to be diverse when it comes to sports."

Diverse, at least, when it comes to watching them, not playing them.

"I haven't tried the tennis training yet," Anthony said. I've just been dealing with basketball and boxing."

He then joked: "I might do some soccer training just to stay busy."

What he really meant...

What Carmelo really meant:
"I would rather be playing ball and making money, but I am too busy kissing my agent's bleep.  We just do what our agents tell us to, and trust them to make us a lot of money.  I wish we could play, though.  I can barely support my posse anymore."
