The Miami Heat's redemption question will commence with the highest possible expectations. lists the Heat as the odds-on favorite to win the Eastern Conference and considers the Heat the top bet to win the 2012 NBA Finals.

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and company are the favorite to win the 2012 Finals at 9/4 with the over/under on their regular season win totals set at 48.5 during the 66-game season. They are 1/1 odds to win the Eastern Conference.

After Miami, the rest of the top-5 title contenders include: the Los Angeles Lakers (5/1), Chicago Bulls (7/1), Oklahoma City Thunder (15/2) and the defending champion Dallas Mavericks (17/2). After that group, the next tier includes the Boston Celtics check in at 12/1, the New York Knicks at 20/1, the Orlando Magic at 22/1, both the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs at 25/1 and the Portland Trail Blazers are at 30/1.

The teams with the worst odds are the Charlotte Bobcats, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings and Washington Wizards, all listed at 150/1. The Toronto Raptors are dead last, listed at 200/1.

The defending Eastern Conference champion Chicago Bulls are listed as 5/2 odds to repeat in 2011-2012. The defending Western Conference champion San Antonio Spurs are listed as 10/1 odds to repeat.

With last year's Finals appearance, another year to gel and a Mid-Level Exception with which to add a serviceable center, it makes sense that Miami, who blew fairly easily through the Eastern Conference playoffs, is listed as the best bet. The Lakers and Bulls are both right about where you would expect them, with the Celtics taking a hit due to questions about their hole in the middle and overall depth and age concerns.

The Mavericks drop a bit because of questions circling how many of their important free agents -- Tyson Chandler, J.J. Barea, Caron Butler, DeShawn Stevenson -- will return.  The Thunder, who appeared in the Western Conference Finals and bring their entire rotation back intact, might be the best value on the board, given their combination of superstar talent (Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook), valuable role players (Kendrick Perkins, Nick Collison, Serge Ibaka) and an excellent tertiary scorer in James Harden.

Evs that what yyou said last year! I don't see it unless Lebron & Wade figure out who's team it is and I don't see that happening.

The same group picked the Heat last year. They will again have a great regular season. Then LaBron will do what LaBron always does.......disappear in the playoffs when the Heat needs him the most. The Heat don't have the two most important players that you need to win a championship, they need a Point Gaurd and they need a Center. And because of the sorta big three, they don't have the cap space to get any quality depth.
If Chicago can come up with second scorer they have the best chance of coming out of the East. The West has most of the best teams. So you can take your choice between the Lakers, the Thunder and the Mavericks. I think that the Champion will come out of the West. They have not only great starting talent, but they have depth, the single thing lacking in the East.

Portland is 2 to 3 years and pieces away. 30-1 is way too generous. No center. no back up power forward, no back up pg, no one that has an outside shot and kneeroy.

Miami Heat are odds-on favorite to win NBA Finals

This is the year the Heat have a chance to win the NBA Championship and yes it is a result of the strike shortened season.  Yes fans will say it doesnt matter they won it in a strike shortened season and YES there will be Haters that say it doesn't count because it was a strike shorteded season.  This might be the first ring LeBron gets and that might help him and the Heat get more rings in the future, but he will need those rings because if the Heat do win it all it will come with a fans asteric(not  a mark by the NBA) requiring LeBron, even though its D-Wades team to win it all in a full NBA season to get any legitamcy.  The Spurs won it in the 98' 99' strike season with fifty games then went on to win two more solidifing there claim as a championship team that could win it all in a full season. This is what the Heat must do if they win it all this year.  They must win at least one full season championship to be considered Champions or it will haunt LeBron his whole career.  I think the NBa would benifit greatly by cutting the amount of full season games anyway.  Most of the NBA fans I meet only watch the games after the all-star break anyway because they are watching college basketball games or the finish of the NFL seaon.  Good luck to the Knicks and I hope we beat the Heat to keep them out of the play-offs!

Maybe they can get that fat ass that coaches the Jets to lead them to the championship--he is great at predicting a super bowl every year--seems like a good fit--he can even lead the three stooges in thier preseason celebration.  As long as LeDung is there to pass off the last shot to mario chalmers--these fools have no chance.  To all you heat bandwagoners--no hating going on--you have to win something in order for people to hate you--HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Miami Heat are odds-on favorite to win NBA Finals

Here come the Heat fans to declare their Heat the champions of the season before a game has even been played. Perhaps they can place their trophy for this next to the one they have from last year for being the before-the-season-has-even-started champions. Do they hand out before-the-seaon-has-even-started championship rings, also?
miami can hold that ceromony..... shocker...... the-day-before-the-season-has-even-
