Grant Hill signs one-year deal with Suns

Whether it be their magical trainers or just because he wants to return, Grant Hill will stay with the Phoenix Suns with a one-year, $6.5 million deal, according to the Arizona Republic.

The Knicks struck out on Hill as they were rumored to have Hill "leaning" their way. But maybe it was those trainers that have extended Hill's career or the fact he loves playing with Steve Nash, he decided to stay put.

This is obviously important for Phoenix who desperately needs Hill's leadership and toughness. He's quietly had a couple really solid seasons, while staying healthy which has always been his issue.

But it's one more year for Hill and then another go-around next season. I must say, $6.5 million is quite a bit for a 39-year-old, but Hill's proven to be able to handle things at his advanced age. No reason to think he won't be ready again.

Grant Hill signs one-year deal with Suns

I'm definitely not a Duke fan but I do respect and admire several Dukie grads.  Namely Hill, Battier, and Brand to name a few.  Father time has been good to Hill over the past 4-5 years.  I'm so happy he will be back in Phoenix.  He doesn't look or play like a 39 y/o that's for sure.  Hill is still a respectable defender, gives you solid offensive numbers, can rebound, drain a few threes, etc.  I sure wish he could have played at least half of the games he missed due to injury back in the early 2000's as he would be a HOF candidate in my book.

Hillarious.  Does everyone who wants to increase their market value pretend to want to sign with the Knicks?  Grant Hill this year, Jason Kidd last year, and I believe Steve Nash the year before that.

As a Knicks fan, I find this histerical.  a six month lockout, a smaller salary cap, and the Suns give 39 year old Grant Hill 6.5 million?  Grant Hill graduated high school at the same time - our senior year started in 1989....  So good job by the old guy doing what he had to do to represent for those of us brought up way back when.

Agreed.  Great job, Suns.  Losing Hill would have been a major blow to this team.  Had he gone elsewhere, the writing would have been on the wall for Nash to be traded.  Grant is a class act and sometimes a player of that moral quality helps a team more than just points, assists and rebounds do.  The Suns are likely going nowhere this season but having Hill on the team will make it more bearable for us Phoenix fans...

Nice move Grant you know the system in Phoenix and you play well with Nash and you have proved that you still have something left in the tank and you can still play at the NBA level no doubt. Good job suns.
