After the Lakers three-way trade fell apart last week, Chris Paul had a simple and sweet tweet: "WoW," is all he had to say. Because it said it all.

And Wednesday night, after Eric Gordon was the prize in the package that finally convinced the league to push a big red button the CP3 deal, Gordon had pretty much the same reaction.

Here's the best part about it though: Three hours prior to that, here's what Gordon tweeted:

Funny story: Gordon actually found out about the deal while on a bus with Clipper season-ticket holders for some kind of fan tour thing. That's the "Clipper event" he tweeted about. And just a few hours later, he found out that he was in enemy territory.

The way players find out about trades has always been a bit fascinating, especially the how quickly news and information moves across Twitter and everything else. For Eric Gordon, his next stop on that bus was actually New Orleans.

Eric Gordon reacts to Chris Paul trade: 'Wow'

Typical clippers...... David Stern was between a rock and a hard place and the clippers slide let him squirm his way out.  The Clippers held all the leverage in his only trade option and still caved... year after year, leave it to the Clippers to screw something up.  Absolutely no way should the Clippers have given up E. Gordon in this deal and now they will pay for years to come as he becomes a dominate scorer and playmaker who plays in multiple all-star games and C. Paul slides across town to play PG for the Lakers in two years.  Sadly, I'm not suprised to see another blunder by the lovely losers!!!!  Way to go Clips!

Chris Paul is without a doubt one of the top 3 PGs in the league but he isn't a championship caliber guard ! For all the talent that the Heat has, they could not beat Dallas last year because Dallas had all the parts necessary to win a ring !

Outside of Griffin, the Clippers have no other inside players who command a double team or who can shoot mid range jumpers ! If Griffin really thinks it's going to be "Lob City" as he claims, he's sadly mistaken !

They still need to play defense and play as a team ! That takes time !

Hate to hose some of you down, but this is a move by the Clippers that has to be given some time.

It is a lot to give up, but it is more of the bird in the hand better than 2 in the bush. A star now instead of MAYBE 2 in the future.

First of all, yes, Chris Paul is a stud. Then understand that shooters and scorers like to play with outstanding point guards. Kobe is one of the few SG that players think they want to play with but that is because he handles the ball so much in the triangle. Some SG/SF will move to the Clippers this year or next just to play with Paul. Count on it.

Great passing guards will attract scorers who want to catch his passes. So while Gordon can score, he is still an undersized player at his spot. And will any of the draft picks be sure to be stars? And will Gordon STAY healthy? Who know? Paul is star right now. Griffin makes 2. And yes, 2 stars in the NBA goes a long way. All you have to do is find solid starters. Aminu is growing as a player but he is not a sure thing. And if Kaman wants to, he can come back at the end of the season as a FA.

As for Griffin, he is a stud. His team just got him another stud so he knows for the first time in Clippers history they look as if they want to win. And they can. They match up with the Thunder pretty good without the bench. Maybe not everything this year but the chance to get better is just as good and hoping draft picks turn into something other than blanks. Remember, this is the Clippers drafting. If Paul likes playing with the best teammate he has even had (Griffin) for 2 years, he should resign.

This is a shoot for the stars trade, not a play it safe and hope deal.

First, Eric Gordon is just as valuable as Chris Paul.  It was Eric Gordon and Blake Griffin that were the one-two punch last year.
just as valuable? keep dreaming bro. and how'd that 1-2 punch finish? yeah, no playoffs. this deals instantly makes the clippers a force in the west, and maybe even the nba

Leave it to the clippers to make this trade ......  one more good draft and they are off to the races. they didnt need chris paul and they gave up way to much for a point guard.....Dwight Howard yes.... Chris Paul  no way...he is a very good player dont get me wrong but gave up way to much especially when you just signed chancey Billups. You had all the leverage in the world... and you could have stuck it Sterns and the NBA but you didnt have the balls to call there bluff

Thank you  Donald Sterling

Sorry to say I absolutely love the trade because you are getting one of the best players in the league now, not later.  For once it's
nice to say you really have a chance to win the west.  When was the last time you could say that.  I get the value that was lost, but
now every team will have to respect two of the Clippers best players and I might say two of the best players in the NBA.  Can't remember every saying that about a Clipper team.  Odd makers dropped the title line from 50 to 1 to 15 to 1 with this trade.
Enough said.

As a Clipper season ticket holder on and off since 1992 and the old Sports Arena days, I once again and left shaking my head with a Clippers move.  First off, let me say that Chris Paul is a stud; I get that.  But what they traded for presumably a two year player is not worth making the playoffs as a #7 seed as I predict.  They traded a soon to be 23 year old Gordon who averaged his age despite his freaky injuries the last 2 years.  A play maker as a shooting guard who has really been developing into a star.  They also included the #1 pick they got from Minnesota which will prove to be a Harrison Barnes or Sullinger type player since Minny is not a good team by any stretch.  I was glad to see Kaman go with the emergence of a raw but talented Jordan but Amino is a good role player in himself.  This Clipper team in 2-3 years could have been a dominant team in the west.  This on the heels of getting Billups and already having Bledsoe on the roster as well.  Caron Butler is solid if unspectacular but how can you make this deal with two weeks left before the season starts and expect the team to gel with all of these moves in time to not get into a hole considering the season only has 66 games in it?
Should have stayed pat, let the younger players develop and gel.  Another bad day to be a clipper fan.

I am not a Clipper fan, but I agree with you completely.  It takes 8 or 9 guys to get it done, not two; to win a championship.  Maybe it is fill seats, not sure what start power Gordon has.
