Rose wearing walking boot, out against Wizards

UPDATE: It's confirmed, Rose is out tonight.

The Bulls are banged up at point guard, but it was really no biggie as long as Derrick Rose was fine. Well, he might not be.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Rose is wearing a walking boot on his left foot because of turf toe and is "likely out" against the Wizards Wednesday. Why is Rose in a walking boot? He's dealing with a little turf toe and it worsened last night.

The Bulls signed Mike James out of the D-League today according to ESPN.com, to help fill in for C.J. Watson who has been injured and now presumably to help out with Rose likely being out.

John Lucas will likely start for the Bulls if Rose doesn't play with new guy James backing him up, assuming he joins the team right away.

I agree Bearish.  Some other Bulls need to step up though.  They can't be that bad without Rose.

You're wrong yardog. Its embarrasing. Cutler was astronomically more important than Forte. Shoot. Kahlil bell went near 100 twice. You need to put it in perspective with how well the backup can fill in.

Rose wearing walking boot, out against Wizards

With Rose watching from the bench, the Bulls and Wizards put on one of the ugliest displays of "professional" basketball I've ever seen. This Bulls team, without Rose, looked like the Tim Floyd Bulls. Fortunately for them, they played the worst team in the league. With the way games are stacked up this season, if Rose misses a full week or ten days, the Bulls could fall a couple of seeding slots come playoff time. Alternatively, Rose really needs to get healed, because with his competitiveness, he could try to play through the pain and keep himself injured for much of the season. It's still early, but this early season injury could have season-long effects. Hopefully, not.

Yeah Spagsman, Rose should have been working out that toe, I cant beleive a player of his caliber would sit on his but during the strike and not work out his toes so he doesnt get Turf toe.

Rose wearing walking boot, out against Wizards

This basketball season is playing out just like the NFL season....1) strike, 2) no off-season mini camps, 3) limited preseason/training camp and 4) a slew of injuries caused by players who were not shape to begin the regular season 5) unpredictable injury filled regular season. Imagine playing 3-4 games or more per week without proper training. The NBA is putting out a substandard product as a result and the fan know it. I've seen so many highlights with half empty arenas. That serves the players and owners right. This season is a JOKE.

Turf toe could be a problem for Rose the entire year. If it knocks some football players out for the season, I cant imagine what it will do for a player that relies mainly on his quickness.
Is it just me, or are more injuries happening to bigger stars this year.
Anyone who says the lockouts(football and basketball) and lack of practice time had nothing to do with this are full of $hitz.

Rose wearing walking boot, out against Wizards?

I dunno why we are talking Bears, but anyone who thinks losing Forte was just as bad as losing Cutler is an idiot.
Forte = Most yds. from scrimmage in the league when he went down injured. Yeah, just as bad.

Turf toe is not an easy injury to get over. The Bulls need to be smart with this.

The Bulls are a second rate football team is basketball uniforms. They will win the RS games and lose to the Heat in 4.
