OK, so now all of a sudden Dwight's OK with Boston. This is getting hard to keep track of. For months, it's been assumed that Howard would not consider Boston on his list of teams to go to. Multiple reports have indicated he's expressed that he will not re-sign there if traded to the Green Team. But now there's different information... from Howard's own mouth.
And if Howard is still available — if the Magic don’t blink and move him before the March deadline — C’s president Danny Ainge will undoubtedly put in a call to Team Dwight.

The question is whether he’ll answer.

“Always. Always,” Howard told the Herald. “I’d always listen to a team like that.

“My thing is I want to win. It’s not something like I’m doing this for money. I win. I want to do it my way.”

There may be two problems for the Celtics in that last paragraph. Howard may question whether the club can win with him, Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce, a collection of minimum salary veterans and a few children. And his “way” likely means a bigger stage.

This does not mean that Boston is at the top of, or near the top of the list for Howard. He's made his choices pretty clear. But Boston has continually dogged him in the playoffs. Joining them would be joining an organization all about winning, who he knows will be able to build around him. He'd likely have Rajon Rondo as well, since the trade package would probably include the Big 3. The Magic have reportedly been looking for veteran players who can help them win now instead of younger players. If they want old guys, Boston's got them.

(Side note: Please try and imagine Rajon Rondo's surliness next to Dwight Howard's effusive jolliness. Unintentionally funniest duo ever.)

But Howard hasn't been all about winning. He's not targeting Chicago, which gives him the best chance to win a title. He clearly wants the money and fame that comes with Los Angeles or New York. If winning is what matters, you don't put the Nets at the top, no matter how good Deron Williams is. The Celtics are a long shot, but Howard would listen to the offer. From there it would come down to Danny Ainge and if he could pull off the sales job of his life.

Howard would listen to offer from Celtics

I'd listen to Celtics?  How about shutting up and playing for your current team that cultivated you from the time you were a rooke?

Howard would listen to offer from Celtics

This is a pipe dream for NETS fans. As much as I'd like to see this, I would have to ask why Orlando would let him walk via free agency; what would they get in return?

Calulated PR move to convince Magic fans that front office did everything they could to keep D-12, or just plain foolishness?

If, however, Howard does join the NETS this summer, and Houston makes the playoffs, the NETS would actually have two 1st rounders since they own Houston's lottery-protected 1st rounder in the upcoming draft.

Howard would listen to offer from Celtics

Somehow this reminds me of what it was like during the lockout in the summer. Everyday we will hear some news of how close or far the lockout was going to be over and now we're hearing which teams Dwight would be "ok" to be playing for. I think Howard just need to make up his mind if he's staying or leaving Orlando than the rest would fall in it's place. If trying to win the ring "instantly" than he needs to consider the Bulls, Lakers, the Mavs, Trailblazers, OKC, and maybe the Knicks? lol.

Howard would listen to offer from Celtics

Not many people realize that the Celtics are one of the few perfect fits for him especially if the Magic are looking for veterans.  If Dwight Howard puts out a list of teams he would like to go to, than the only reason why he even mentioned the Magic in it is because he didnt want to upset them even though they know he is not staying.  The Celtics have two things that a few teams on his list dont have....One of which is the veterans the Magic are looking for and the Celtics also after this season will have the cap room to resign him or at least close to it.  This would be a great fit for Howard but the market may not be as glamorous as New York or Los Angeles though the Celtics do have the winning tradition obviously with the most rings ever in the NBA.  Either way a lot has to happen in 2 months for this but he will most likely end up staying in Orlando until the offseason.

Believe it or not, if Howard stays until the end of the year, and wants to sign as a free agent somewhere, I believe the Nets are his best chance at winning. Look at this projected 5:

Deron Williams - Top 3 PG in the league
Marshawn Brooks - Rookie shooting guard playing extremely good - possible rookie of the year
Brook Lopez - moves over to power forward
Lottery pick 2012 - Very good draft upcoming
Dwight Howard

Not a bad young team with years of potential. I think he ends up with the Nets.

Before you start talking about how this CANT work learn your facts. The leauge didnt let Chris Paul go to the Lakers because there was not a owner of the Hornets at the time, and each team shared a piece of the team. Only reason why he did not get traded...

Personally I think he has better now than he would have with a very quickly aging Pierce, Rondo, and underpaid vets. I think you will see both Howard and Deron go together someplace that can fit them both, like Phoenix who is losing Nash at the end of the year. Nets claim to be able to fit them both but neither seem ok with that scenerio.

Wow...  I could not be more tired of him saying this crap.  If I was an Magic fan I would be livid.
You guys remember the days when people had to be accomplished before we were posting stories about them all the time.  Jeez... until D.Howard or L.James win a ring...  I don't care to hear about it.
