UPDATE: After some confusion, Dwyane Wade wil play tonight against the Knicks, reports the Sun Sentinel.

Dwyane Wade will miss his seventh straight game because of a sprained ankle according to ESPN, sitting out the Heat's game at home versus the Knicks Friday.

However, the Palm Beach Post reports that Wade is still a gametime decision. I'll guess we'll officially know at gametime, then.

Wade sprained his ankle during a Jan. 14 game against the Denver Nuggets. Without Wade this season, the Heat are 7-1.

Miami will likely just continue doing what it has done over the past four games, putting the ball in LeBron's hands more while using a committee of James Jones, Mike Miller, Norris Cole, Mario Chalmers and Shane Battier to fill Wade's time.

Wade, 30, is averaging 19.6 points, 5.4 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.7 blocks in 35.1 minutes per game this season.

Miami next game after tonight is the big one Sunday against Chicago, which I'm sure Wade is eager to play in.

Dwyane Wade to play Friday versus Knicks

I agree with the last paragraph. We do have a much better well rounded team. Our bench from last season is a complete 180. Now I do disgree about a bigger audience or more media attention. Hands down even if we're not the best right now I would bet money to say we get the most media attention. You spilt up any of the big 3 and our coverage will drop. Everyone watches because we have a great/stacked team. I know guys on my ship (in navy) that go for miami just because of the big 3 and that they know we'll make it to the finals again. Question who you think is a bigger name right now bulls or heat granted bulls are doing better so far?

Wade (ankle) out Friday versus Knicks?

All this Dwyane Wade news seems like a non-issue at this point.... Clearly Miami has the horses to win without him, at least for now!!! I've said it once and I'll say it again, the Miami Heat only NEED one or the other;Lebron or Wade.  Having them both on the same team is so unneccesary and it hurts the league.  You put either one of these guys on a subpar team and they will be contenders overnight.  Might not win a championship the 1st yr but for a struggling team your gonna turn 20-45 to 45-20, have a much bigger audience and draw alot more media attention.  This all adds up to revenue for the NBA and the team.  As a fan I wanna see both these guys play to their highest potential and its just not possible when they have to split the role of go to guy!!  I digress tho; Miami has some great players, pick your poison basically.  James is a threat anywhere on the court and Bosh can score from anywhere inside the 3 pt line.  Haslem plays his role on defense and getting rebounds and Norris Cole is a firecracker.  Kid is so damn fast and is aggressive, just needs some experience and he'll be starting in the NBA.  Mike Miller is a sniper on the perimeter, and Chalmers certainly has his moments. Either way the Heat have a good formula the way they are playin!!!
