Oh, thank goodness. It had been almost 24 hours without a prospective landing place for Dwight Howard popping up. I was starting to feel alone and sad.

Thankfully, the Chicago Tribune spoke with Howard this week on the question all Bulls fans want to know. Does he really not want to play with Derrick Rose? The Magic's big man says as long as the Big Guy upstairs is down with it, he'd absolutely play next to the MVP.

"If I could play with Derrick right now and God wanted that to happen, it will happen," Howard told the newspaper. "It has nothing to do with me not wanting to play with Derrick Rose. I love him. That's my brother."

via ChicagoTribune.com's "Dwight Howard: Orlando center Dwight Howard on long-shot trade to Chicago Bulls: If God wanted that to happen, it will happen."

Howard also denied any sort of marketing complication with Adidas would keep him from wanting to join the Bulls. Previous reports said Howard was possibly resisting the idea of playing in Chicago, whether due to complications with being "the man" next to Rose or the market when compared to New York or Los Angeles, or some other issue, like the weather. Howard could simply be playing the PR game to leave all of his options open. He's likely amiable to playing in Chicago, but still prefers the warm spotlight of L.A. or the fuzzy fur coats in Brooklyn.

But Howard would be wise to consider Chicago -- both for himself and the franchise he's likely dumping. A trade with the Bulls would be easiest to facilitate because they have quality veteran players to package in exchange for Howard, which the Magic are said to covet. With a full stock of draft picks, young players and sub-stars like Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah, the Bulls could take on Howard's salary and one of the Magic's overpaid contracts. For Chicago, putting Howard next to Rose would be phenomenal -- and giving Tom Thibodeau the best defensive player in the league could create the best defense in league history, depending on whether Luol Deng were sent away in such a trade.

good lord who really cares, seriously its getting old either trade the guy or play the season out...i hope this doesnt go on until the all star break because its getting completly boring. Next he will say he will play for the Bobcats.
I agree that this story is really getting old,  but think of it as a Soap opera for their is always new developments. New twists and turns where Howard could end up with, I don't know if using soap opera is the best idea but it seem to fit in my opinion.

obviously he would have to sign a long term extension before being traded to the bulls, and i am not sure he wants to do that.  this seems like a brett favre cross your fingers and hope for a title move by howard.  regardless, he does not like to follow orders and behave like thibs is going to require.  if they want to take boozer off our hands though, i say it has to be done

Dwight Howard open to playing in Chicago

the Chicago scenario to me, would hopefully include, at least one, if not both(yes crazy, i know) Noah and Gibson, with Brewer and a Pick.   For Jameer-Dwight and who cares....

If Orlando is this terrible with him..I pray, as a Magic Fan from inception, get rid of this Shaq Never Was, we were hurt by Shaq leaving cuz we could have won it with him, with Dwight, there is no delusions of that.

I personally want a 3-4 Team Deal, that nets Orlando, Tyreke Evans and Kevin Love, after that, My mom could play 3.

Just get this over with, the Orlando Product is absolutely ridiculous at the moment....

Howard and all the rest of these overpaid prima donnas are what is wrong with basketball and have ruined the game. The worst thing that ever happened to basketball was that they settled the strike and the players are now being paid. I used to like watching basketball as a kid. NOW? Anything not to watch a single dribble. Go away Dwight....and take Lebron with you!

Right now at the half, Philly 37 - Orlando 33!!  Howard is 2 of 8 at the line!!!  I thought the Magic hired Mark Price to help him with his freethrow shooting?!  Now that guy could make freethrows, but he must not be much of a coach or.....maybe Howard is incapable of making a decent percentage.
Howard and all of his talk/whining has to be hurting the team.  They sure are playing like it.
GM Smith if you read these posts get off your butt and make a deal and get him out of here!!!!!!!
