Oh, thank goodness. It had been almost 24 hours without a prospective landing place for Dwight Howard popping up. I was starting to feel alone and sad.

Thankfully, the Chicago Tribune spoke with Howard this week on the question all Bulls fans want to know. Does he really not want to play with Derrick Rose? The Magic's big man says as long as the Big Guy upstairs is down with it, he'd absolutely play next to the MVP.

"If I could play with Derrick right now and God wanted that to happen, it will happen," Howard told the newspaper. "It has nothing to do with me not wanting to play with Derrick Rose. I love him. That's my brother."

via ChicagoTribune.com's "Dwight Howard: Orlando center Dwight Howard on long-shot trade to Chicago Bulls: If God wanted that to happen, it will happen."

Howard also denied any sort of marketing complication with Adidas would keep him from wanting to join the Bulls. Previous reports said Howard was possibly resisting the idea of playing in Chicago, whether due to complications with being "the man" next to Rose or the market when compared to New York or Los Angeles, or some other issue, like the weather. Howard could simply be playing the PR game to leave all of his options open. He's likely amiable to playing in Chicago, but still prefers the warm spotlight of L.A. or the fuzzy fur coats in Brooklyn.

But Howard would be wise to consider Chicago -- both for himself and the franchise he's likely dumping. A trade with the Bulls would be easiest to facilitate because they have quality veteran players to package in exchange for Howard, which the Magic are said to covet. With a full stock of draft picks, young players and sub-stars like Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah, the Bulls could take on Howard's salary and one of the Magic's overpaid contracts. For Chicago, putting Howard next to Rose would be phenomenal -- and giving Tom Thibodeau the best defensive player in the league could create the best defense in league history, depending on whether Luol Deng were sent away in such a trade.

Dwight Howard open to playing in Chicago

After watching yesterday's Bulls-Heat game (and for that matter, Bulls-Pacers), it is blatantly obvious that there still is no "go to" guy aside from Derrick Rose.

Dwight Howard will be that player.  Get this deal done.  Now.

If Orlando even mentions the name "Luol Deng", Foreman better just hang up the phone. Give em Boozer, Asik and a pick and call it a day. So then you get Turkoglu as depth or just amnesty him.
Rose, Hamilton, Deng, Gibson/Noah, Howard.    Bench: Gibson/Noah, Brewer, Korver, Turkoglu, Mamba, Watson, Butler, Lucas III.  Not a bad time.

But I forgot Howard is a F/A after this season. If a deal can't be struck, then just wait till the offseason.

Here's next weeks story

This just in: Dwight Howard loves basketball and really wants to play in ________, He would really get along with existing star _______. "That'smybrother" Howard tells the newspaper. "but for now I play on Orlando." Asked what team does want to go to? He replies "whatever team God decides but they better have a max contract in their hand."

I can't wait to see what team God decides to have Howard play for next year

Dwight Howard open to playing in Chicago

Howard is open to play anywhere because Howard wants to have his a** kissed. He never went to college, never had the recruitement experience, never got to feel sought after. He's a child looking for attention.

You don't have to trade both of those guys.  Remember something man, based on the existing rules in place and how stupid NBA owners are Dwight Howard and Chicago will decide what Orlando gets in a trade, the Magic have very little say.

Boozer and a number 1 pick should get the job done.... won't take much more then that because if Howard really wants to play there he'll just make noise and publicly tell people he's not going to sign an extension with anybody else if he's not traded to Chicago. This way nobody else will have any interest in him because nobody is going to trade multiple players to just rent him.

Dude I'm sorry but you are one serious idiot. Look what the Nuggets got for Melo and the Knicks were the only team Melo wanted to play for. The Magic have very little say, sure but what about the Celtics, Nets, Mavs, Lakers, Bulls, Clipers and the other teams Dwight is sure to add to his list?? And you think Boozer and a #1 pick will get it done? You got to be the stupidest poster on earth.

Howard is such a flake. His destinations keep changing. I think Chicago will have a real shot if Howard will sign there. They could easily package Boozer and Noah plus maybe a draft pick plus one other player (not Deng- that would be too much) for Hedo/ Howard. They would still be deep and as much as I love Noah, this would make them even more of a contender. Also this would be the best package for Orlando and Hedo's big contract would be gone.  Get it done!! Best interest of both teams.

Decent by our standards, not decent by NBA standards. The Bulls used the mid-level exemption for Hamilton, so he gets about 5 million a year.

The Magic may not be able to say much, after Howard is a free agent, until then they can ask for the world and will trade him to the highest bidder that he's willing to sign with.  But the thing is, Howard will command a max deal contract wherever he goes which is more than what Boozer makes.  Noah already makes $60 million, Rose makes $94 million, and I believe Hamilton makes a decent contract along with Deng.  At this point you can't just trade for Boozer and expect to make room in your cap for Howard, given that you'll have Dwight and Noah at the Center position you'd be paying for around $30 million per year at the center position.  So once again, you don't need Howard, and Boozer and a 1st round pick is not going to be enough.  Going to have to give up more which takes away from the Bulls advantage over everyone.
