Oh, thank goodness. It had been almost 24 hours without a prospective landing place for Dwight Howard popping up. I was starting to feel alone and sad.

Thankfully, the Chicago Tribune spoke with Howard this week on the question all Bulls fans want to know. Does he really not want to play with Derrick Rose? The Magic's big man says as long as the Big Guy upstairs is down with it, he'd absolutely play next to the MVP.

"If I could play with Derrick right now and God wanted that to happen, it will happen," Howard told the newspaper. "It has nothing to do with me not wanting to play with Derrick Rose. I love him. That's my brother."

via's "Dwight Howard: Orlando center Dwight Howard on long-shot trade to Chicago Bulls: If God wanted that to happen, it will happen."

Howard also denied any sort of marketing complication with Adidas would keep him from wanting to join the Bulls. Previous reports said Howard was possibly resisting the idea of playing in Chicago, whether due to complications with being "the man" next to Rose or the market when compared to New York or Los Angeles, or some other issue, like the weather. Howard could simply be playing the PR game to leave all of his options open. He's likely amiable to playing in Chicago, but still prefers the warm spotlight of L.A. or the fuzzy fur coats in Brooklyn.

But Howard would be wise to consider Chicago -- both for himself and the franchise he's likely dumping. A trade with the Bulls would be easiest to facilitate because they have quality veteran players to package in exchange for Howard, which the Magic are said to covet. With a full stock of draft picks, young players and sub-stars like Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah, the Bulls could take on Howard's salary and one of the Magic's overpaid contracts. For Chicago, putting Howard next to Rose would be phenomenal -- and giving Tom Thibodeau the best defensive player in the league could create the best defense in league history, depending on whether Luol Deng were sent away in such a trade.

Dwight Howard open to playing in Chicago

I used to really like Dwight Howard. I thought he was a really nice guy and all of that, but really. this is enuogh already. When you are under contract on a team that is decent, that will make the playoff and has been to the finals recently, you should really just keep quiet and play. Every day we get to see a new article about how he is willing to play for another team other than Orlando. This has to be frustrating for the guys who are on his team because all they here is that they aren't good enough and he wants to be somewhere else with some other star player. Last I saw basketball is a team sport, he just seems like a bad teammate distracting his team when if he just let everything unfold without talking it would make things a lot easier on everybody involved.

Thank God this...If God Wants that...If it's meant to be, God will make it happen. I'm sorry, I'm no church going fool but is there a way that these IDIOT athletes can stop using GOD as some sort of scape goat for why he really wants to leave Orlando. That doesn't just go for D12(that's his nic, Not superman) but any athlete that says "thank God" we won! You think the other teams are saying thank god we LOST? God has better places to be on a sunday afternoon than watching football or is making sure that he knows where DWIGHT wants to be traded to. Give it a Rest will ya's. It's like as soon as these douchebag athletes get a camera in their face it's "All about God". But when they leave the arena's/stadium's it's reality as usual. That's why we never EVER(cough cough) see anything in the news about these choir boys.

Chicago should do whatever it takes to get Howard in town. They would become the favorite by far if it happened. Rose could use another big time scorer to help him out. Boozer is up and down, so his Deng. I think they should offer Boozer and a couple picks

If this is true lossing Boozer and  Noah and a draft pick would be worth it. But Deng should be retained. Gibson can replace Naoh because Boozer and him play is like watching a Yo-Yo going up and down.

Dwight Howard open to playing in Chicago

Every day there is another story about Howard being open to play somewhere else. Wasn't it just Boston the other day? I used to be a big fan of Howard, now, not so much. I wonder how his teammates feel about him.

Gee Howard... Really?  You wouldn't mind being traded to the Chicago Bulls?  That is earth- shattering news.  Cherry- picking primadonnas.  The NBA's main problem, personified right there.  The inmates are now running the asylum.

Dwight Howard open to playing in Chicago

I had been on the fence about Dwight Howard joining the Bulls because I wasn`t ready to part with Noah.  If we could toss in Boozer, Noah and a pick I think I would do this deal. Howard can replace both Noah and Boozer`s production (rebounder, 3rd scoring option).  The only area we lose out on is hustle. Noah is a tireless defender but Howard would solidify the middle of the paint and Rose could lob balls out there for him. I think with Howard in Chicago the Bulls jump right to the top of the contenders list.  Would like to keep Taj if at all possible. He`s a sollid contributor off the bench for now.
