Update Tuesday 11:45 a.m.:  The Knicks announced Tuesday Carmelo Anthony is out 1-2 weeks with a strained right groin. So Linsanity better be sustainable or the Knicks could come completely apart. On the other hand, this might give the Knicks a chance to find some chemistry and success offensively without Melo. If the Knicks, who have won their past two games behind strong play from undrafted guard Jeremy Lin, keep winning without Melo, that's just going to get awkward.

----------------------------

Just when things were finally starting to look the tiniest bit positive for the Knicks, Carmelo Anthony had to leave Monday's game against the Jazz in the first quarter because of a strained groin.

Anthony injured the groin just running up the floor and did not return to the game. He will be evaluated and a timetable will be set after that. Melo had just returned from a stint on the bench to rest list of injuries that included a bad wrist, back and ankle.

The Knicks were already shorthanded without Amar'e Stoudemire, whose brother was killed in a car accident earlier in the day.

Yeah its only been 2 games but just by the way he zips around and passes well, you can tell he's got mad potential. You can also see that he has heart and discipline, that's usually something that doesn't fade away.

Melo is the worst player on the team(or that was on the team) Just a fact, I don't know why you Melo-heads keep trying to make excuses and coverup for the guy.  His game and attitude have been absolutely pathetic this season.

I'd agree if we were still stuck w/ shumpert but if Lin keeps being a playmaker, than I disagree

The knicks will play better with Amare as the focal point

The Knicks will do what the Grizzlies did last year even though the Knicks should be elte anyway, I think Baron comes in,  Melo and Amare step up and Chandler destroys it in March .

I dont even care about the knicks eithier

GO MAVS!!!!!( not a bandwagoner,  fan since 97)

99% of you that come on here daily and ridicule Anthony have probably not watched 1 Knick game this season.  He had to ball hog.  We had no pg that created plays.  Shumpert would dribble up court and hand anthony the ball.  Literally just hand him the ball.  Shumpert isn't a pg.  W/o a playmaker this team will not work but you can't blame Anthony as much as the sports world is.  If Lin is the real deal,  we'll be talking a lot differently about the Knicks come playoff time.  I still believe in them.  No matter what i will always root for them.

The Knicks mortgaged their future for this bum.  Has anyone noticed how well Denver is doing?   I love it.

This next few weeks will determine the knicks season.
Without Melo, and Amare, you would assume for a few games, they probably won't be good enough to win and already being 5 games under .500 they are real close to being to far to climb back into contention.
I was one of those people thinking they would be a good team making a splash in the playoffs, but this is starting to prove that point guard is probably the most significant position in th league.

Another vacation for overrated Melo. Gee.. think he just wants to sit on his ass again and mysteriously be ready all the sudden in time for the all-star game, a game he shouldn't have even been voted into in the first place?
