The NBA officially announced the complete 2012 Eastern Conference and Western Conference All-Star teams on Thursday.

The seven reserve spots were selected by a vote of each conference’s head coaches.

The Eastern Conference reserves: Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh, Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson, Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert, Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce, New Jersey Nets guard Deron Williams, Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng and Philadelphia 76ers forward Andre Iguodala.

The Western Conference reserves: Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love, Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook, Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki, San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker, Phoenix Suns guard Steve Nash and Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol.

The starting lineups for both teams, selected by a fan voting process, were unveiled last week.

The Eastern Conference starting lineup: Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade, Heat forward LeBron James, New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony and Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard.

The Western Conference starting lineup: Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant, Clippers forward Blake Griffin and Lakers center Andrew Bynum.

The Associated Press offers the following notes and quotes on the selection.

Nowitzki was chosen Thursday to his 11th straight All-Star game, with coaches overlooking the lowest scoring average since his second NBA season in favor of his long-term excellence.

"It was a tough road back to full health for me, but I am honored that the coaches thought enough of me to make me an All-Star," Nowitzki said in a statement. "It has been a privilege to represent the Mavericks organization over the last decade and I look forward to doing it again in Orlando."

But Kevin Garnett wasn't chosen after 14 consecutive selections, and Tim Duncan was left out after 13 in a row. Other All-Star regulars such as Ray Allen and Amar'e Stoudemire will be home, giving way to five first-timers among the reserves: Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge, Marc Gasol of Memphis, Andre Iguodala of Philadelphia, Indiana's Roy Hibbert, and Chicago's Luol Deng.

Age didn't stop Nash, averaging 10 assists and shooting 56 percent from the field. He became just the fourth player to earn an All-Star spot at 38 or older, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan and Karl Malone.
The 2012 All-Star Game will be played at the Amway Center in Orlando on Feb. 26. Bryant will look to repeat his performance as the 2011 NBA All-Star Game MVP. Here's a look at the jerseys that will be worn during the game.

To answer the question on where Rondo or John Wall are, Rondo missed a ton of time and John Wall almost stole an all star spot but then turned it over, as usual.

I should have made myself more clear.Pau has been an all star before, and now Marc is an all star.Has there ever been a pair of brothers that were both all stars at some point in their careers?I believe they are the first. That's quite an achievement.

Twins Dick and Tom Arsdale both played in 3 allstar games each in the 60s/70s, 2 of them being the same game.  There may have been others, these are just the 2 I know about.

next year, the timberwolves will have two starting allstars, maybe three.  kevin love, ricky rubio, and perhaps nicolas pekovic if he continues to put up  double doubles at center. atleast maybe off the bench.  this a good time to be a timberwolf fan, and been a fan since day one.

How is Anthony an All-Star???   Anthony is shooting a piss poor 39% from the field, dominates the ball on a losing team, does not play good defense or rebound well.   What makes him an All-Star?

so, who should have been the MVP?  LeBron?  Because i'm sure he has won MVP's before, and then lost in the playoffs.  Your statement makes no sense.

Fact: Rose won the MVP at 22 years old. Your opinion: he will never win another one. I'll take the fact.
