The NBA officially announced the complete 2012 Eastern Conference and Western Conference All-Star teams on Thursday.

The seven reserve spots were selected by a vote of each conference’s head coaches.

The Eastern Conference reserves: Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh, Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson, Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert, Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce, New Jersey Nets guard Deron Williams, Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng and Philadelphia 76ers forward Andre Iguodala.

The Western Conference reserves: Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love, Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook, Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki, San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker, Phoenix Suns guard Steve Nash and Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol.

The starting lineups for both teams, selected by a fan voting process, were unveiled last week.

The Eastern Conference starting lineup: Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade, Heat forward LeBron James, New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony and Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard.

The Western Conference starting lineup: Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant, Clippers forward Blake Griffin and Lakers center Andrew Bynum.

The Associated Press offers the following notes and quotes on the selection.

Nowitzki was chosen Thursday to his 11th straight All-Star game, with coaches overlooking the lowest scoring average since his second NBA season in favor of his long-term excellence.

"It was a tough road back to full health for me, but I am honored that the coaches thought enough of me to make me an All-Star," Nowitzki said in a statement. "It has been a privilege to represent the Mavericks organization over the last decade and I look forward to doing it again in Orlando."

But Kevin Garnett wasn't chosen after 14 consecutive selections, and Tim Duncan was left out after 13 in a row. Other All-Star regulars such as Ray Allen and Amar'e Stoudemire will be home, giving way to five first-timers among the reserves: Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge, Marc Gasol of Memphis, Andre Iguodala of Philadelphia, Indiana's Roy Hibbert, and Chicago's Luol Deng.

Age didn't stop Nash, averaging 10 assists and shooting 56 percent from the field. He became just the fourth player to earn an All-Star spot at 38 or older, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan and Karl Malone.
The 2012 All-Star Game will be played at the Amway Center in Orlando on Feb. 26. Bryant will look to repeat his performance as the 2011 NBA All-Star Game MVP. Here's a look at the jerseys that will be worn during the game.

2012 NBA East, West All-Star teams announced

The "All-Star" match should be renamed to the most popular play match, as that what it is. Having look at some of the players and i can't help but feel that certin players should be dropped.

Chris Bosh - not playing like an all-star but has his friends to get him there
Carmelo Anthony - should give his spot to Lin, as Lin is doing way more that melo could
Drik Nowitzki - (i am a massive Dallas fan but he dosen't deserve it) should give way to Monta Eliis
Paul Peice - Either John Wall or Danny Granger is perform better
Russell Westbrook - Turns the ball over too much, and takes to many shot, if he passed to KD more OKC wouldn't loose, he should be dropped of Gerald Wallace.

Lets get back to having a look at HOW a player is playing and performing not WHO they are and the term All-Star might mean something again

P.S. At least we don't have 2 players getting voted in without playing more than 5 gave AI/Yao

Great to see Marc Gasol get the recognition for all of his hard work.He won't have to be referred to as Pau's little brother any more. Also,I'm not sure if two brothers have ever been selected as all stars before.Maybe the Van Arsdale bros.I'm not sure, but I don't think so.

Glad a majority of folks got what they wanted. No more whining about Aldridge not getting on the all-star team.
