From CSN New England, reportedly, Rasheed Wallace is back:
CSNNE.com has learned that the former Boston Celtic forward plans to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.

...

"His days as a starter in this league are gone," said the source. "I think he knows that, and so do the Lakers. But think about it. Of the big men that are available, is there one that's really better? And if he's gotten himself in shape, adding him becomes a huge get for them."

The Lakers could use a better backup big that can hit from range, as Troy Murphy has severely disappointed, Jason Kapono can't get time on the floor and they lack a legitimate back up center. The question is whether Wallace has anything left in the tank. At 37 years of age, it's going to be a challenge to get back in shape, a challenge to get into the offense, a challenge to be able to play consistent minutes. This is a pretty big gamble for the Lakers, even on a minimum deal.

That said, Rasheed Wallace is back. Both teams played hard, my man, both teams played hard.

Also, can we mention that Rasheed and Ron Artest will now reportedly be on the same team? How amazing is that, given the brawl?

Report: Rasheed Wallace to sign with Lakers

There is a reason Bill Gates is not giving his fortune to his kids.  There is a reason Bill Gates is telling his kids that they need to earn what they get.  There is a reason Bill Gates will not leave his children in charge to run Micrsoft when he is gone.  Because he is smart.

Dr. Buss though he was an excellent owner and a basketball franchise genuise.  His kids are spoiled freakin losers that have never had to work a day in their lives, and dont know their ass from a basketball.  The Lakers will fall if they do not get someone with brains in there to run this team.  His kids are disfunctional and only care about what to spend the money on next.  If I were Howard, I wouldnt choose L.A., and if I were Kobe, I'd go else where to finish my career, cause he isnt winning in L.A. until they put the kids back to bed, and get someone with knowledge running this team.

As a life long Lakers fan, it hurts to see them so disfunctional.

Weired signing...Rasheed looke DONE in Boston and backup bigmen (who would rather shoot outside than bang inside) is not the Lakers' main problem (even acknowledging the massive brain fart that was trading Odom and the disappointing play of Murphy)...the problem is PG and offense from the SF position.  A 37 year old, washed up Sheed does nothing to address this.  Dumb.

And the Lakers think Sheed will be better than Murphy? Child please. Kapono will get more minutes than Sheed's fat butt can handle. Another chump to sit next to World Peace.

Did Kupchak or Buss see what Sheed did in a Celtics uniform. 3 point bricks, technical fouls, immediate foul trouble upon each off the bench insertion, not a team player. The list is endless. This is a great addition to the Lakers. Enjoy the daily lackluster performance,  the need to hire an anger management specialist,  and all the infinite negativity this guy adds to the roster. Get rid of Odom and bring in Sheed. Lakers have gone dysfunctionally ballisitic.

@Matt Moore

The question is whether Wallace has anything left in the tank. At 37 years of age, it's going to be a challenge to get back in shape, a challenge to get into the offense, a challenge to be able to play consistent minutes. This is a pretty big gamble for the Lakers, even on a minimum deal.

One question Matt. With all the challenges you mention in your article, what would be the benefit to the Lakers signing Wallace? Having and paying one more old bench player that is older than D Fish, drawing a minimum salary and happy to be in the league once again, so he can say I played for the Lakers, Sorry sat on the Laker bench and got 15 minutes of play in the strike shorten season.

If you are able to find a benefit for the Lakers acquiring Wallace I am sure the Lakers might entertain this idea.

Matt you might consider getting you a better source, this source might be carrying you for a ride and laughing behind your back at how idiotic, the information he is giving you and then you actually print it.

I hope this information did not cost you that much.

Maybe the Lakers signed Wallace because they are expecting to trade one or both of their big men.
