As I said during the halftime update, this game was not very pretty, but in the end the Miami Hurricanes left Heinz Field with a 31-3 victory over Pitt.   The difference in this one was that while Miami cleaned up its act a bit in the second half, the Panthers most certainly did not.

Jacory Harris rebounded from his poor performance in the first half to throw touchdowns over the final two quarters, putting the game out of reach when he found Leonard Hankerson for a 19-yard touchdown early in the third quarter that made the score 17-0 'Canes.  Harris and the Hurricanes did suffer a bit of a scare in the fourth quarter when Harris had to leave the game after being sacked.  He would return on the next series and finish the night with 248 yards passing.

For Pitt, the best thing I can say is that at least the game is over and that it wasn't a conference loss, so hopes of a Big East title still remain, though at this point winning the Big East is like proclaiming yourself the smartest person on the cast of Jersey Shore.   Plus, there's no way this Pitt team can win the Big East -- even if it is horrible -- playing the way it did on Thursday night.

Dion Lewis struggled again, though a large part of it could be blamed on an offensive line that couldn't block a sled.  Lewis finished the game with 27 yards on 10 carries.  Ray Graham, on the other hand, had another strong night, tallying 100 yards on 10 carries -- though 42 of those yards came on one run in garbage time -- and also picked up 41 yards receiving so it's possible that Graham may see more touches than Lewis in the future.

After all, Graham was running behind the same offensive line as Lewis, yet he still found a way to move the ball.  If only there were any other members of the Pitt offense who could do the same.

Even with 4 int's. Miami was in the whole game. Miami defense stuffed OSU.

This guy is even more delusional.  "Stuffed" to the tune of 400 yards and 36 points???  Also, you really think Miami was "in the game" when it was 36-17 late???  Clown.

Miami knocks off Pitt 31-3

This game provided more confirmation that Miami was at fault for losing the OSU game, versus OSU winning it. Miami's D shut down Pitt all game, minus Graham. Graham ran better than even OSU's rb's

Miami gave up 3 points to Pitt.  They gave up 36 to Ohio State.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that Ohio State had alot to do with winning it.  Tongue out

OH, 1 other thing, the pollsters suck big time. Miami is IDLE and loses 2 spots. I bet by Miami destroying Pitt. They only regain the 2 sports they were anyways. I can see Miami going 11-1, and not being in the top7 in the country. I bet there will be 2 loss teams higher than Miami, when the season is over. If Miami is not in the top 15 in the next poll, the pollsters can go and stuff it for all I'm concered. That included Dennis Dodd of CBSportsline.Com.

OK, Harris threw 4 int's in the game. If we take back just one of those interceptions. The whole score is different. Miami, 1st and goal at the 8. If Jacori throws a TD and not an 80yard return to the Miami 18, and 1 play later is a td. Miami wins, 31, 29. NUFF said. Miami gave the game to OSU, OSU didn't win the game. Even with 4 int's. Miami was in the whole game. Miami defense stuffed OSU. Also, OSU ave starting field position was their own 48 yard line. Miami averaged their own 28. When you only have half a field to deal with, more times than not your going to score. Also, Miami help OSU to 6 field goal attemps. That has NEVER been done in the entire history of OSU football program.

Miami knocks off Pitt 31-3

Gee. All I hear up and down the internet and on tv, sports center, is how bad Pitt played. Gee come on, give credit to Miami will ya. Its not like Pitt gave this win away. Miami's was awsome. (Watch out Clemson). And Miami's O-Line is playing superb, and that was the greatest weakness to the Hurricanes coming into the season was. In 3 games have given up onl;y 3 sacks, 1 to Ohio State and 2 to Pitt. Beware, this season has a lot in the making of the 2000 season. When Miami went 1-1 winning at home to FAMU, and losing on the road in a well faught, but turnover prone game to Washington at Washington. Then what did Miami do, just win the rest of the games the rest of the year. The only close game was against FSU at home where they had another WIDE Right. Besides that they blew out everybody. So watch out Clemson, VaTech(LOL), Georgia Tech, North , Florida State. Miami probably will go 11-1, 12-1 if it wins the ACC Chamionship game. The Miami Hurricanes defense is big, strong, and oh yes, VERY FAST. So stop faulting Pitt and their lack of effort from supposed Great Players, and give credit to Miami. The only thing that Miami lacked was Special teams. Geez, no Special teams TD this week. HA HA. There is always next week.

Miami knocks off Pitt 31-3

Why would any team take a knee with 3 or 4 minutes left in a game? After the INT Miami ran the ball on consecutive plays until they scored a TD. Did you watch the game?

Pitt had one major problem last night and that was there quarterback play.  They started the wrong quarterback.  Pitt could not move the ball period and on the few times they did something always happened to take them out of field goal range.  Jacory Harris is not a great quarterback.  If he didn't have great receivers he would be on the same par as Russell Wilson of NC State.

Also, Miami didn't even come close to Ohio State two weeks ago.  The love affair the Jesse Palmer, and Craig James has with Miami is ridiculous.  They acted like it was a miracle that Ohio State won the game.  Miami will loose for the season 3 or 4 games.  They will probably lose to Clemson next week.

Miami fans say if. . . this didn't happen we would of won.  It did happen because of better defense and offense by the Ohio State Buckeyes.  Look at these stats:

Ohio State could of padded the score in the last 2 minutes by scoring another touchdown but they did something that Miami wouldn't do against Pitt, Ohio State took a knee.

Miami is not a top 15 team and will not be one this year.

A great defense forces turnovers.  If Ohio State didn't have the worst special teams in the country; that game is over at halftime.  I think Miami is a good team, just not OSU-Alabama good.

I certainly hope people don't think that Pitt can beat West Virginia..
i wanna know why pitt was even ranked, ive watch two game that they have played and havent seen anything that would make me say "yeah their top 25". WVU should beat pitt this year and should beat them good but who knows it is a fierce rivalry.
