Oregon
fans, Chip Kelly and the rest of the Duck football program have a request for you :

Imagine a television backdrop where every fan in Autzen is wearing brilliant bright yellow. Chip Kelly, along with all of us in the athletic department ask you to "yellow out" the stadium this Thursday, as we won’t only be in 3D, but the game will be televised nationally in primetime on ESPN.

Be a part of this spectacular show with your yellow best.. and once again make Autzen rock the nation.

Strangely enough, when this neutral college football fan imagines a television backdrop where every fan in Autzen is wearing brilliant bright yellow, the result is a peculiar desire to claw his own eyes out. It's crime enough against good taste (and the continued proper functioning of viewers' retinas) when the Ducks themselves trot out the all-yellow look . An entire stadium of yellow-clad fans matched by an entire team of yellow-clad Ducks might require the surgeon general to recommend some kind of protective goggles if we're going to watch the country's No. 1 team's likely beatdown of visiting UCLA .

Nonetheless, the Oregon administration feels that "yellow will best represent our football program and fan base to the rest of the country." And it might, if this becomes the tipping point at which college football collectively realizes that the color-out fad has run its course, and afterwards recognizes Oregon for taking the necessary final step towards its eradication.

That won't happen, of course; if Lane Kiffin 's candy-corn blackout at Tennessee couldn't stop the color-out bandwagon, nothing will. (It's a safe bet we'll also find out later that any and all visiting recruits "loved it.") But you do have to give Oregon credit for trying.

A certain, twisted kind of credit, that is.

lol. We should have Roboduck come back, and have Puddles/Donald put a stomping on him. Have like a Roboduck funeral at halftime.

Does not mean every marketing move the Ducks have ever made was pure awesome.

Don't make me bring up roboduck.

Does not mean I am not a real Duck fan if I wear green.
The lightning yellow isn't even the traditional yellow, that had a little more gold tint to it.

There will be a yellow out and the University already knows this.  Check the weather forecast for Thursday night.  Seems there will be a drizzle in the air and what color are all those rain ponchos the Ducks sale?  These guys are marketing beast at their best.

I was bitching about Pat Kilkenny not Phil. Phil always wears green. I think the lightning yellow started around the time Kilkenny started making decisions.

Phil is the man.

Even though i hate the all yellow uniforms, I'm always curious to see what the Ducks will be wearing from week to week.  I'm a die hard duck fan and I think that all the hoopla over the Ducks uniforms over the last few years has been good for the program. (more money, more attention good and bad).  Oregon is very lucky to have an alumni who gives so much back to the University.  I dont understand why some Duck fans bitch about the influence of Phil Knight.  He has been great for the entire Oregon Athletic Dept.

Go Ducks

Yeah, I am a loooooooong time Duck fan and hate this idea.
It wont work though watch, they tried to do this for the USC game last year, a blackout that time, but thousands showed up in green or yellow or white.
Oregon fams are too individualistic. Plus the good bulk of us are old enough to remember the Ducks of the late 90's-early 2000's. Still our all time best run. The Akili Smith and Joey Harrington led teams, and the main color then was GREEN.
GREEN has always really been the main color.
Brooks and Bellotti always preferred green.

Yellow has always been our secondary color.
It seems though sometime around 2003 or 2004 someone who donates alot of money starting pushing the idea of more lightning yellow, and it has led to some ugly uniform combos.

But no matter, longtime Duck fans and alumni prefer green as the main color, and it will win out in the long run.

I really wish we would go back to the 2001 Duck uniforms, or at least wear the 1998 throwbacks more.

GREEN!!!!!

The color is GREEN!!!!!!!!!!
