Nebraska to be without Niles Paul

Hey look!  It's Nebraska news that doesn't involve either Bo Pelini or Carl Pelini apologizing for their behavior.  Though that doesn't mean it's good news. Bo Pelini made the announcement on Wednesday that Nebraska's leading receiver Niles Paul hurt his foot during practice on Tuesday, and he's not going to be available for Friday's game against Colorado.

"His status for the rest of the season will be evaluated," said Pelini in a statement.

This could have a huge impact on the Nebraska offense against Colorado.  There's still no word on whether Taylor Martinez will be available to play in the game, and Nebraska's offense has already struggled mightily since he hurt his ankle.  Plus, when Martinez is out of the game, the 'Huskers can't rely as heavily on the ground game, and need to throw more to move the ball consistently.

Something that isn't easy to do if Paul is out of the game.  He not only leads the team with 39 receptions for 516 yards and a touchdown this season, he also serves as the team's top return man on special teams.  Making matters worse?  The three names behind Paul on the depth chart -- Curenski Gilleylen, Tim Marlowe and Khiry Cooper -- don't have a single reception to their name this season.

It's hard to determine who's the better writer --- you or Dud!  You're just too funny and creative for me.

It seems pretty apparent that there's a helluva lot more so-called sportswriters and non-husker fans out here STILL whining than anyone in Nebraska's camp!  Thank god we got all you expert examples out here to learn from.

Thanks for your expert advice.  I am sure Watson was just waiting for you to come out here and post a game plan for him.
What a moron.

In the opinion of the future Pulitzer Prize winner, "When Martinez is out of the game, the huskers need to throw more to move the ball consistently"...

Cody Green threw 11 times with 6 completions for 57 yards during the A&M game...If Martinez cannot go, Nebraska will run the ball 75% of the time using Burkhead and Helu.

Unfortunately for this poorly trained hack, it's just not as compelling of a story when you can't create drama with the "top receiver" out (oh no!)

It is truly an unfortunate disservice to the public that any half wit can qualify for a "journalism" degree and get a paycheck for this type of swill...

Go ahead and make some more stupid comments about Nebraska football.  CBS Sports is a joke, and sportswriters should remain unbiased or they need to get out of the biz.  You and Dodd should quit staying up so late over drinks coming up with these crappy columns.

I'm with twocoach there, Paui is also the leading reciever in dropped passes and fumbles.  The ball is going to be a lot cleaner at that game.
