Heisman finalists announced

The Heisman Trophy will be handed this Saturday in New York, and while there really isn't all that much suspense surrounding who is likely going to be taking home the hardware, until now there was some question as to which players would be making the trip.  Well, that suspense is over.

The four finalists for the Heisman were announced on Monday, and they are as follows:
  • Cam Newton - QB - Auburn
  • LaMichael James - RB - Oregon
  • Andrew Luck - QB - Stanford
  • Kellen Moore - QB - Boise State
I am snubbed once again.

Now, if the votes were based solely on performance on the field this season, then there wouldn't be much doubt that Cam Newton was going to be walking out of New York with the trophy in his hands.  Still, who knows for sure how the voters are going to vote considering everything that has taken place with Newton this season, and the fact that Reggie Bush just gave up his Heisman a few months ago.

Nobody wants to see that happen again, and according to some voters I've seen on Twitter, there are some voters who left Newton off of their ballot. Which means that there is a chance that somebody other than Newton will win the award, though I wouldn't bet on it.

I think the heisman should go to either Andrew Luck or Kellen Moore. The teams they commanded this year lost some key players from last year. For example, Andrew Luck lost Toby Gerhart, Gerhart was the offense. But that really doesnt matter seeing that auburn was a garbage team and I believe Cam Newton was THE offense, so he will most likely win it. However, looking to next year it will be someone from the Big Ten, maybe John Clay. I am just glad that no one is arguing a case for Terel Pryor who is an absolute garbage football player and will go nowhere in his short career in the NFL.

Where is Denard Robinson?  I think Cam Newton should win the award, even though I think evidence will surface in the future that he was ineligible.  But, surely Shoelace deserves to be in the top 3.  This has to be some kind of media backlash against Rich Rod.  I hate Michigan and Rich Rod w/ the best of them, but come on, the kid put up some sick numbers and should at least get a trip to NYC.

All 4 are very deserving...Newton has been over the top impressive for individual ability though.  I'm not an SEC fan, but have to hand it to him.  So. Mississippi should have antied up the $190,000.   Luck is great, but came on a little too late and plays in a very balanced attack.  Moore has big numbers over his career and James is fast but part of a slick offesive unit.  He's like Ingram...a good player in the right spot.  Newton this year and Gerhardt last year carried their teams.  I say give it Cam and rescind Ingrams.

Can will accept his award on rollerskates!  Nobody even comes close to the body of work he has put together this season.  James, though, has been very impressive!
