Terrelle Pryor could dominate, prefers winning

Terrelle Pryor hasn't made much of a secret of the fact he's felt a bit disrespected this season.  He started the season as a Heisman contender, but quickly fell off the radar thanks to guys like fellow quarterbacks Cam Newton, Andrew Luck and Kellen Moore.  Heck, Pryor wasn't even named to the Big Ten All Conference teams, instead being passed over for guys like Denard Robinson, Scott Tolzien and Dan Persa.  Which was something he's already voiced his displeasure over via Twitter.

It's obvious that this all bothers Pryor, whether he wants to admit it or not, because it seems like every chance he gets to tell somebody that he's better he takes it.  This time Pryor was talking to the Chicago Tribune when the topic of those other quarterbacks came up, and he made sure to point out that if he was in a different type of offense than the one they run at Ohio State, he'd be dominating college football.

"I'll put it like this: You put me in any of their offenses — any of them — and I'd dominate," Pryor said. "I'd dominate the nation. What those guys do, that's what they're supposed to do in their offense.

"They carry the ball 30 times a game. I carry the ball maybe five times. There are times I didn't even run the ball in a game. You put me in any of their offenses, where I can run the ball and have a choice to throw, I would dominate college football."

This is where I point out to Pryor that he could have been in one of those offenses had he chose to.  After all, he was being recruited at Michigan too, but chose Ohio State.  Which Pryor is fully aware of, but at the end of the day he makes sure to point out that while he may not receive all the accolades that the others do, there's only one thing he really cares about.

"People get into the statistical thing, and at the end of the day, what's the statistic that really matters?" Pryor said.

"We could have done better, but I'm 30-4. I want nothing else but to win. If I was having a lot of stats and I was losing, I would really be kind of mad. My competitive nature wants just to win, by any means. By any means, win. That's all I really care about, to tell you the truth, man."

Which is nice to hear, but it's obviously not the whole truth.  I'm sure Pryor cares a lot about winning, but if it's the only thing he cares about, why is he spending so much time complaining about everything else?

And when I use the comparison to mike vick.  I am STRICTLY comparing the talent and NOT the person.  This is a sports message board and I have no interest in discussing politics or morality.

Why don't you ask Pryor why he chose Ohio State over michigan, oregon, and the rest of the pure spread, zone read offenses.  He wants to play at the next level and Ohio State's offense will better prepare him for that transition into a more complete QB.  He chose Ohio State over some mickey mouse offense that pads personal stats.  Ask him now if he made the right decision.  Hate to make the comparison, but Mike Vick is the type of QB he wants to mold into.  As of late, it sorta makes sense.  He never wanted to be the next Vince Young.  Tebow may have been sucessful in college, but he will ride the bench in the pros.  TP made the correct choice in the long run.  He knows he is better, period.  So be it.  As the game slows down and he makes better reads, he will be able to stand in the pocket and shred defenses with his arm.  Not yet.  When he can do that on the run, again, mike vick comes to mind.

If you still think that the mickey mouse - donald duck offense works, go back and watch last year's rose bowl and learn the difference.  Or just watch a philly game this sunday.  Good luck in disneyworld..

Should have gone to Oregon when they recruited you.  It's now sour grapes.  The only one you have to blame is yourself.

OMG, I make a ryme and you go racist! All I'm saying is these kids are allowed too much individualism in what's supposed to be a team sport. Thats where the problems start. When a coach acts like a jerk everyone notices and hates him for it, but when it's a young athelete it seems to be ok- thats why it gets out of hand, don't look so hard to see anti-black in everything you look at- it's paranoid

As for him not winning any of the rewards in the big ten this year is that the coaches & media my have been fliping coins because of all the great QB play in the big ten. If he is mad at what happened than he should come back and lead Ohio to the national championship. I think that when it comes down to the NFL Pryor will be better than both Tebow and Cam because the linebackers in the NFL are all the same where in college you may have only one that could run a 4.3 instead of all of them and that he plays in a pro style office that requires him to look over a defence.

Sonnerznation,

YOU ARE AN ASS!  A comment like that is not something you say about a young kid that is still maturing and trying to handle the disaapointment, (albeit poorly).  I don't care for Pryors comments, but your comment is worse.  It is what is wrong with coolege footabll, and all sports...NOBODIES HURL INSULTS AT PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY LIVE A BETTER LIFE THAN YOU.  By the way...go wash your hooded sheet and cape....it is beginning to smell like the BS you posted.

Sounds like to me that he is upset that he isn't getting the attention his school told him he should get. Well, I've got news for you, your team and program are about much more than just yourself, Terrelle.

Saying things like, "I would dominate..." sounds childish and VERY ego-centric. The NFL pays a lot of money for analysts to come in and assess a player's skill and mental capacity. They will know if he can do that sort of thing. All this article tells the nation is, "I'm here!!!," "look at meeeeee!!!,"those guys are benefiting from being system QBs, so if, if, if, if, if...."

Who cares. Be a LEADER and DO. It isn't our fault you elected to go to a school that would eventually underutilize you. Yes, the W & L column is what matters most, but damn. You went to a school that is clearly at the top of the list in the Big Ten. Is TP trying to say that Ohio State wouldn't be 30-4 without him? I believe they would! If they had a better QB, they might just be in the BIG GAME right now.

Ryan Mallett transfered because of this reason. What an attention whore he is being. . .This is a team sport.
