Terrelle Pryor could dominate, prefers winning

Terrelle Pryor hasn't made much of a secret of the fact he's felt a bit disrespected this season.  He started the season as a Heisman contender, but quickly fell off the radar thanks to guys like fellow quarterbacks Cam Newton, Andrew Luck and Kellen Moore.  Heck, Pryor wasn't even named to the Big Ten All Conference teams, instead being passed over for guys like Denard Robinson, Scott Tolzien and Dan Persa.  Which was something he's already voiced his displeasure over via Twitter.

It's obvious that this all bothers Pryor, whether he wants to admit it or not, because it seems like every chance he gets to tell somebody that he's better he takes it.  This time Pryor was talking to the Chicago Tribune when the topic of those other quarterbacks came up, and he made sure to point out that if he was in a different type of offense than the one they run at Ohio State, he'd be dominating college football.

"I'll put it like this: You put me in any of their offenses — any of them — and I'd dominate," Pryor said. "I'd dominate the nation. What those guys do, that's what they're supposed to do in their offense.

"They carry the ball 30 times a game. I carry the ball maybe five times. There are times I didn't even run the ball in a game. You put me in any of their offenses, where I can run the ball and have a choice to throw, I would dominate college football."

This is where I point out to Pryor that he could have been in one of those offenses had he chose to.  After all, he was being recruited at Michigan too, but chose Ohio State.  Which Pryor is fully aware of, but at the end of the day he makes sure to point out that while he may not receive all the accolades that the others do, there's only one thing he really cares about.

"People get into the statistical thing, and at the end of the day, what's the statistic that really matters?" Pryor said.

"We could have done better, but I'm 30-4. I want nothing else but to win. If I was having a lot of stats and I was losing, I would really be kind of mad. My competitive nature wants just to win, by any means. By any means, win. That's all I really care about, to tell you the truth, man."

Which is nice to hear, but it's obviously not the whole truth.  I'm sure Pryor cares a lot about winning, but if it's the only thing he cares about, why is he spending so much time complaining about everything else?

Have you seen Terrell Pryor throw? No way he will be any good in the Pros. Arm is not strong enough and he is just not accurate enough. He reminds me of a poor mans Vince Young, and we see how that has turned out. Tennessee wins in spite of Vince Young. He is right, though, you put him in a spread offense and he would put up Cam Newton numbers because of how athletic he is. Michael Vick has always had incredible arm strength, he was just never very accurate and would not go through his progressions. He is doing that now and the results are showing. Terrell does not have the arm strength to be consistent in the pros.

Very true. Pryor wants wins & championships, not stats. I have hopes that he'll lead OSU over Arkansas because Pryor is undefeated vs the SEC. Sure he hasn't played them yet, but he's proven to everyone that he wants to win, by his performance in the Rose bowl last year. *GO BUCKS!*

That's absolutely not true.  After he fumbled the ball in the game against Penn State and lost two years ago, after the Buckeyes lost to Purdue last year, and lost to Wisconsin this year, Pryor emphatically said "it's all on me."  Didn't you see the guy sitting on the bench completely down-trodden with his head buried in his hands long after the game was over?  You can see he takes his responsibility seriously.  He never said anything remotely close to "just a bad day, they're not really better than us."  Please do not distort the truth.  Although he never said it, that actually happens almost every week of the season.  A superior team just has a bad day and loses; otherwise there would be no upsets in college football.

This  is a b.s. article in the first place. Pryor has not been spending any time complaining. He had one facebook reply that lasted 2 seconds. I hardly call that spending time complaining. Get a grip.

Mallett might become the next Peyton... Pryor is a different qb than mallett though so it all depends on what team they wind up with as far a how they excel, look at vick now, he was doing a lot of this in hotLanta but nothing like what he's doing now with philly - same person (even older, should be slowing down not excelling), different team. i like Mallett though (not sure if i'm spelling his name right.)

What they aren't saying is that he was asked a pointed question about how would compare himself to the 3 other big 10 QB's.  His answer was right on the mark if he was in the NW or Mich system he would have gaudy numbers but not many wins.  He also points out that winning is what is important to him and 30-4 as a starter shows that.  He doesn't complain about not being able to run he just points out he doesn't run 30 times a game.  I don't see how you can say he is complaining or whinning he just answered a question to the best of his ability and I actually agreed with him.

True, I forgot about him probably the best of the bunch.  All I'm saying is CFB gets caught up in the stats, which is fine because they're there to measure performance in CFB.  However the NFL looks purely at mental and physical skills along with othe intangibles such as instincts.  Instincts I believe are developed more effectively in a prostyle offense than a system, where the plays are mapped out.

30-4?! Thats a pretty nice stat right there! Go Bucks!
Also, when Buckeyes are needing a play to get back in a game or take a lead, it's usually Pryor making something happen.

He wont be as good as Ryan Mallett in the NFL. Not a chance.
