Trio of Mountaineers ineligible for bowl game

At the rate things are currently going, West Virginia won't have many players left on its roster by the time its date against North Carolina State in the Champs Sports Bowl next week gets here.  Yesterday the news came that the team's top cornerback Brandon Hogan wouldn't be able to play in the game thanks to an injury, and on Thursday the school announced three more players who won't be able to play.

Those these three aren't hurt physically as much as mentally.  Seems they don't have what it takes to make the grade.
Three West Virginia football players, including a starter on the offensive line, have been declared academically ineligible for the Champs Sports Bowl on Dec. 28 against North Carolina State.
Sophomore Joe Madsen, the team's starting center, reserve defensive back Eain Smith, a junior, and reserve junior defensive lineman Josh Taylor did not meet NCAA eligibility requirements and will not participate in the bowl. Smith and Taylor, while not starters, are contributors to West Virginia's defense.

Maybe Dana Holgorsen can spend some time tutoring while he waits for Bill Stewart to give him the head coaching job.

Just because it's not a BCS bowl is no excuse - the NCAA must step up and do the right thing .

You couldn't be asking for "consistency" now, could you?

Okay, my comment was aimed at the rail against everyone by the "everyoneisanidiot" guy or whatever his/her name was.

Enjoying the Christmas spirits as I attempt to remain coherent. LOL

everyone on these boards talk about things they know nothing about. you all act like your opinion is right and everyone else is an idiot. you are all self-rightious people who need to get up from the computer and try a little exercise or maybe read a book. Don't any of you realize that your opinion on anything means absolutely nothing. Keep your opinions to yourself. I have been looking at this crap for a while and  would avoid it if I could. This is the first, last, and only post I will ever write. Any comments, keep them to yourself because I'm not going to read them. You would just be talking to yourself. That's probably the only real friend you have anyway. I hope to never meet any of you lonely losers.

I liked NC State before this came out...lovin it even more now.  That poor team has been so up and down all year.  The Big East is certainly not representing this year, nor any really.

That's real funny; who was the last team to beat an SEC champion in a bowl game Tigerthongs?  What conference did that team happen to belong to????  The only real worry I have in this game is how WVU's offensive line will hold up without it's starting center along with the exchange between the Geno and the backup center.  Other than that WVU's defense should still be okay in this game even without B. Hogan.  Especially so if R. Wilson plays his usual game with that great 26-14 td to interception ratio he's sporting and that league leading 35 sacks allowed by NC State.  Heck that's almost 3 a game isn't it?  I can say this though; Wilson better grow some eyes in the back of head because he's about to get a real live introduction to the WVU defense and Bruce Irvin during this game.  By the way, who's NC States backup QB anyway?  They may want to give him some warm-up snaps before the game.  Couldn't hurt.

News Release today:  All Arkansas football players made the grade in the classroom.  The team GPA was above 2.5.  In Arkansas we don't cheat and we go to class.  Thats why ARkansas is a elite program and WV is a wannabe!
