Les Miles to interview with Michigan this week

Those sure are some interesting looking planes in Baton Rouge this week.  If you're into the fun trend that is tracking flights across this country, then you'd already know that the plane belonging to Michigan booster Richard Rogel has been in Baton Rouge for a few days now.  It's also been rumored that Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon took a plane of his own to Dallas over the weekend to meet with Les Miles during the coaches convention.  Whether or not Miles has already had contact with Michigan, we don't know.  What we do know is that it looks like the interview process is about to be made official, as the Detroit News reports that Miles will officially interview with Michigan this week.

Miles is back in Baton Rouge this morning to attend the press conference for Patrick Peterson, who will be announcing that he's entering the NFL Draft.  After that, sources tell the Detroit News that Miles will interview with Michigan on Tuesday.

Which means one of two things.  Either Les Miles will be the new head coach at the University of Michigan before the week is over, or Les Miles will have a nice little pay raise from LSU by the end of the week.  We know that Michigan has already said it won't spare any expense in finding a new coach, and Miles already makes $3.75 million annually at LSU.  We've also heard that LSU will try and keep Miles in Baton Rouge.

So no matter where he ends up, Les Miles' wallet is going to win.

Darn media, first I believed them about the auto companies paying back loans, then I believed them when they said Harbaugh was coming to Michigan, then they said Miles, now the media says Miles will stay at LSU.  I'm so gullible!!

Les Miles to interview with Michigan this week

Husker News is reporting that LSU is willling to lower Miles buy out. Well guess what--the only reason for that would be to make it easier for him to leave. Rumor has it that they would like to get Nebraska coach Bo Pelini who coached at LSU from 05-07. I was just speculating but I guess there must be a  few smart folks at LSU.

He won a national cham with Sabean's recruits--I think he is too dumb to win one on his own. Time will tell

@supercoop188  hey that is crazy yeah he is a winner and at the end of the day he was 11-2 and has had 4 years of 11 win seasons every cajun i have talked too doesn't want him to leave.  he has brought us a Nat'l Champ.  The bottom line is yeah he is a bone head but he wins.  If he wants to go to michigan let him go LSU will find another winning coach and with our talent it could be very dangerous

If I was LSU I would be wishing for him to leave and go to Mich. It's not like we are winning because of him. We are winning dispite him. Les is a bonehead--plain and simple. Only in America can a dummy advance this far. The man is a laughing stock around the country--and the Cajuns thank he is a good coach--oh well   ROFLMAO

Easy way out if you can't win say the other guy is cheating. Big Blue were'nt you just found guilty of major rule infractions. That cheating does'nt seem to be helping you. So keep on hating as you sit down and watch the S.E.C. go for another title and if they lose I'm sure Oregon  must be cheating.  Rodriguez ran your program into the ground and there's no magic pill out there to fix it. Learn some humility and patience and in due time you will compete again. Hopefully some jealous loser won't call you cheaters just because they can't win anymore

Miles to um let him go, Baton Rouge is a great place and LSU is a great program, they have been relevant for a long time we had a down period in the 80's and 90's Saban brought us back then Miles.  Yes it is easier to maintain than build but at the end of the day i don't want a coach that regrets not taking the opportunity.  We have all done it passed up a job, girlfriend, something and wonder what could of been.  Then you get distracted from your task.  Then again what if he is playing um to get a pay raise at lsu.  We will all see tomorrow and if he does go LSU will have a good head coach in mind.  um fans you are arrogant and pompus if miles does go you better get a case or truck load of lucky rabbit feet and horseshoes becasue you will need it to rebuild that program and a flavor flav clock for miles to wear to keep time.

I guess it all depends on if Les follows his head or his heart. I'm sure he allways dreamed of being the U M head coach and viewed that as the ultimate goal in his career. However, is he willing to give up a program with a top 10 talent and a great incoming class to go on a 2 to 3 year rebuilding project. One thing is for sure with Les you never really know what he is going to do.
