Those sure are some interesting looking planes in Baton Rouge this week.  If you're into the fun trend that is tracking flights across this country, then you'd already know that the plane belonging to Michigan booster Richard Rogel has been in Baton Rouge for a few days now.  It's also been rumored that Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon took a plane of his own to Dallas over the weekend to meet with Les Miles during the coaches convention.  Whether or not Miles has already had contact with Michigan, we don't know.  What we do know is that it looks like the interview process is about to be made official, as the Detroit News reports that Miles will officially interview with Michigan this week.

Miles is back in Baton Rouge this morning to attend the press conference for Patrick Peterson, who will be announcing that he's entering the NFL Draft.  After that, sources tell the Detroit News that Miles will interview with Michigan on Tuesday.

Which means one of two things.  Either Les Miles will be the new head coach at the University of Michigan before the week is over, or Les Miles will have a nice little pay raise from LSU by the end of the week.  We know that Michigan has already said it won't spare any expense in finding a new coach, and Miles already makes $3.75 million annually at LSU.  We've also heard that LSU will try and keep Miles in Baton Rouge.

So no matter where he ends up, Les Miles' wallet is going to win.

It's tougher to recruit in the big 10 because they do it honest (with the exception of Ohio State) unlike the SEC.  Look at the national champs for the past decade and show me one team that was not dirty.   As soon as the Big Ten starts giving cash hand shakes and letting boosters have their way with recruits they will be back.

Harbaugh was the only one capable of settling all disputes, except for the fact Michigan fans turned their venom on him for making statements that we're probably true. Too bad Jamie Morris can't coach because he's probably the reason Harbaugh is not there. It was pompous attitudes that helped create this mess that Michigan is in. Never thinking they would need Harbaugh. He certainly got the last laugh on that. Grab Miles and see you on this same message board in three years. Take Hoke and give him the time to build it right thats what Michigan football needs. Not we got a big name so we must be good again. Quit being so full of yourselves Wolverine nation and realize that your 5 to 6 years away from competing for conference crowns. You will never give Miles that long. Enjoy your bottom half big ten finishes with whoever you get because the talent is sub par and another recruiting year is lost

At the end of the day Michigan Sucks.  Go Blow.  Hey Michigan fans, you are not the center of the universe.  In fact I would say you are probably the most hated prohgram in the country (outside of your fans) simply because of your arogance.  I have loved every minute of your demise and will continue too --

Clearly, you are not part of the U of M family and you have no idea on how a Michigan Man thinks.  Do you really believe that any part of the U of M family would not support Miles 100%?  He played there, coached there and has done nothing since he left but pledge his love to the maize and blue.  Michigan Men support Michigan Men.  Miles would settle ALL disputes.

By the way, the fiasco from three years ago was caused by Bill Martin and nobody blames Miles.  Why would we blame someone who never was offered the job in the first place?

Easy Big 10 fans, your conference hasn't been relevant for the past 10 years or so - that's why you are attempting to raid other conferences for members. It's also not a good sign when you don't know how to count past 10, when trying to figure out how many teams are in your conference.

Les Miles is a good recruiter, and modest game manager - you will be lucky to get him.

I think most SEC fans would like for Miles to stay right where he is.  If LSU had a top quality coach (like they had in Saban) LSU would compete for a NC almost every year.

He is an awful game coach and has absolutely no clue how to manage a clock.  The athletes he gets at LSU are better than those he will get at Ann Arbor.  It's just a fact.  The best athletes in the world are in the South and they don't want to play in the Big 10.

I'd pitch in to keep Miles at LSU.

Nice use of the word legend. Everyone mentioned has a national title except Schembechler who was also 2-8 in rose bowls and 5-12 in bowl games not legendary when it really counted. Placing Bo in that group is an injustice to those championship coaches. Miles would bring a national championship pedigree, although it was achieved with S.E.C. players not the type of players he can get to U of M. The Wolverines are a dysfunctional program the alumni and fan base are divided and Miles won't mend all those disputes. Many remember the fiasco of three years ago and blame Miles. It probably had nothing to do with him but perception is reality to some. Prior to taking over the rebuilt Saban Tigers Miles was 16-16 in conference with Oklahoma State in 4 years. With the mess in Ann Arbor he won't be 500 in 4 years and the impatient unrelistic Wolverine nation will want him gone.  You are not who you think you are any longer Michigan and Miles can't fix it. Maybe he could maintain it like he has at L.S.U. but there's nothing left to maintain. Stay in Baton Rouge Les they'll never give you the time or unified support in Ann Arbor, just ask Rich Rod.
