Les Miles to interview with Michigan this week

Those sure are some interesting looking planes in Baton Rouge this week.  If you're into the fun trend that is tracking flights across this country, then you'd already know that the plane belonging to Michigan booster Richard Rogel has been in Baton Rouge for a few days now.  It's also been rumored that Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon took a plane of his own to Dallas over the weekend to meet with Les Miles during the coaches convention.  Whether or not Miles has already had contact with Michigan, we don't know.  What we do know is that it looks like the interview process is about to be made official, as the Detroit News reports that Miles will officially interview with Michigan this week.

Miles is back in Baton Rouge this morning to attend the press conference for Patrick Peterson, who will be announcing that he's entering the NFL Draft.  After that, sources tell the Detroit News that Miles will interview with Michigan on Tuesday.

Which means one of two things.  Either Les Miles will be the new head coach at the University of Michigan before the week is over, or Les Miles will have a nice little pay raise from LSU by the end of the week.  We know that Michigan has already said it won't spare any expense in finding a new coach, and Miles already makes $3.75 million annually at LSU.  We've also heard that LSU will try and keep Miles in Baton Rouge.

So no matter where he ends up, Les Miles' wallet is going to win.

Les Miles to interview with Michigan this week

Thanks to Les for a few good years with the tigers. And, good luck bringing Michigan out of the toilet if he takes the job.
Shame on all the bloggers bleeding from their asses on here. You guys need to get a life.
LSU is one of the premier college athletic programs in the country now and always. It is a top notch education and research institution as well. The people and players from Louisiana make LSU great. Now that the NCAA has leveled the playing field, LSU will be contending with or without Miles, Saban, or whomever.
Admit it! You had never heard of Miles or Saban before they came to Baton Rouge. Next! Who wants to be the next famous successful head coach? Just come on down, baby!

winning at LSU makes Miles a king........winning at Michigan makes him a GOD.........and lets be honest if ur out on the recruiting trail, kids want to hear be a part of the Michigan tradition more-so than LSU's, not a fan of either and i think top to bottom the SEC is hands down the best conference in CFB(look at the titles) but there is no bigger prize out there than winning at Michigan and Notre Dame in CFB

I can't believe all the LSU haters on this board.  Like it or not, folks the LSU job is one of the top 5 in the nation right now, and if you say otherwise, then you are just bitter that your team is no longer or never was relevant in college football.  Whatever decision Coach Miles makes, I wish him well.

@ Dantn65 It is already a done deal. That interview tomorrow is a mere formality! Brandon and Miles both played on the same team for Bo! They are great friends and Les would get everything he wants. It is as simple as that. Expect a announcement that Les is the new coach at THE U OF M!

Coach Miles has it too good at LSU. He would be crazy to jump to the Big Ten where things remain uncertain. He has more of a chance of winning a National Championship in the SEC than he would at Michigan. Stay put and eat the fine grass in Louisiana Coach!

"Les Miles to interview with Michigan this week

It's a step in the right direction. LSU fans are only pissed because their boosters roll up in 1979 Oldsmoblie Cutlass Supremes.

MI Nightmare = Idiot!!

Good luck finding ANY American car more than 10 years old that still runs/rolls!

How is it you "Michigan-ders" mana

ged to bankrupt the auto industry and then have the nerve to take OUR tax dollars to bail yourselves out after producing the s h i t t i e s t cars for decades??!!!! Your automakers turds were waaayy overpaid for far too long and when it all came tumbling down you asked for a bail-out! Some freakin' nerve!

Oh, btw.... The owner of that plane lives in Colorado!!!  Pretty sad when Michigan boosters can't stand to live in the same state their alma mater is in!! What a s-h-i-t-h-o-l-e! "

What i moron you are, go home a pull your bottom lip over your head and swallow!  One if you want your car to last you have to maintain it, oil changes, tune up's ect.  putting it on blocks out back doesn't count you red neck.  2, don't complain about the cars if you don't like them and keep buying foreign cars, vote for the bush party and keep asking your self where all your jobs went. And  I'm sick of paying for half the south to be on SSI and Disability.  Non of this happens to cover the fact your upset that it took a Michigan man to get your program winning again, yup a MICHIGAN MAN so i really don't understand your resentment.  maybe you should just stick to watching NASCAR.......o wait those are crappy American made cars.  LOL  loser!

Who cares?  RichRod ran this prgram into the ground and Michigan is no longer relevant in the world of CFB.  Notre Dame is in the Big Ten.....3 years ago they moved into Ann Arbor.
