Mitch Mustain arrested for selling drugs

Remember when Mitch Mustain was supposed to have a great career at Arkansas? Well, things never quite worked out that way as he would eventually transfer to USC where he'd spend the rest of his college days backing up Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley. So now that his college football days are over, and the NFL doesn't really seem to be in the works, Mustain needs to find a way to make money.

Though if he could find a way to do so legally I'm sure the police wouldn't mind. They probably don't feel like arresting him on suspicion that he's been selling prescription drugs.
Former USC quarterback Mitch Mustain is free on bail after being arrested on suspicion of selling prescription narcotics, police said Wednesday.
Mustain, 22, was arrested Tuesday at 8:10 p.m. and was booked on the felony charge at the West Valley-area station, according to Los Angeles Police Department officials. Mustain was released after posting $30,000 bail.
The arrest came as the result of a sting operation, but police did not elaborate on details of the case.
You can see Mustain's official booking information here.

Mustain is still scheduled to work out as part of USC's "pro day" in March, but you have to figure this arrest may put a damper on his draft stock. Mustain is also the second former Trojan to be arrested this week, as former Trojan Everson Griffin was arrested and tasered by police on suspected battery charges.

his freshman year at Arkansas helps his case in the draft
honestly, his freshman year wasnt bad, he just didnt light it up. i think bad coaching at Arkansas caused him to fail there. No wonder Nutt isnt coaching at Arkansas. Giving up on Mustain for Casey Dick, whoops.

MW hit the nail on the head. I seem to remember another USC career backup is now a starter in the NFL and was in the postseason this year. His run ins with the law will cut his chances, but his freshman year at Arkansas helps his case in the draft.

Raiders #1 Pick

The raiders need a QB and like the rule breakers, the malcontents---mustain will be perfect.  Al can pay him a few mil in bonus cash and he'll do "big things" in oakland.

i still expect some team to either draft or sign him on as a project or backup quarterback, just because you didnt start much doesnt mean you cant start in the NFL (Matt Cassel). Anyways, this was a mistake, hopefully he learns from it.

I don't think this just happens with "Hog" QB's.  I think that it is a wider problem than that.

WOW!  Mustain was such an incredible prospect at Arkansas...sad to see such talent wasted.  He always reminded me of Todd Marijuanavich!  Seriously though, 22 years old and making such stupid mistakes...he is still a kid and hopefully he learns something from this.

Backup to Sanchez?  He spent four seasons at USC.  One year as a red shirt, then two years as third string, and finally, in his last year, he made second string after Aaron Corp transferred to Richmond.

Since this is national college football signing day, this serves as a reminder that college football has its busts just like then NFL.  Mustain was heralded as the national high school player of the year and signed with Arkansas with great fan anticipation.  The Razorbacks started his freshman season by attempting to use a West Coast dinking and dunking offense, but they had too much talent at running back - Felix Jones and Darren McFadden - to emphasize passing.  Mustain did manage to throw for 894 yards with 10 touchdowns and 9 interceptions that year with an efficiency rating of 120.53, while his teammate (the hated Casey Dick) finished with 991 yards, 9 touchdowns, 6 interceptions and an efficiency rating of 125.72.
