Own your own Jadeveon Clowney action figure

Jadeveon Clowney hasn't yet taken his first class at South Carolina, hasn't had a single Gamecock practice, hasn't yet even had a jersey number assigned. (In fact, there's some question about whether his academics will even allow him to enroll in Columbia, or force a prep school/JUCO detour.) But that hasn't stopped one enterprising Gamecock fan from building in Clowney's honor ... well, it's not a statue. But it is a much smaller version of one, kind of. And you can own it!

Because courtesy of user "spurrier_is_my_homeboy", fans can visit eBay right now to bid [Update: Sorry, no you can't, see below] on a presumably-homemade "Custom McFarlane" Clowney action figure, in the vein of the popular Todd McFarlane "Spawn" figures. (An official version would no doubt violate three-quarters of the NCAA rulebook.) Photos :

The current winning bid is $47. That might be a bargain, since if Clowney does prove to half the player Gamecock fans -- and just about everyone else who's seen Clowney play, to be fair -- expect him to be, the next time this figure appears on eBay, it's may not come so cheap.

UPDATE: The auction has been taken down, not a huge surprise given the dodgy ethics of using a not-yet-college athlete's image without his permission. But the photos are still just as fun, right?

Own your own Jadeveon Clowney action figure

mcguffinbrad - You are one bright (there's a good one!) star on this website, with your petty, ignorant name calling.  You don't like my entry here so you call me a woman!  Ha!  Ouch!  I wouldn't have wanted him at Bama, smart boy, because he seems extremely self-focused and egotistical, and due to that perception I don't believe he'll be a success.  He is very questionable considering academics, and since your vision is so narrow, apparently you haven't read that he may have to attend JUCO first because of that fact.  As I've mentioned before, Bama has had enormous success recruiting this year, so look into that before you start making evaluations.  I don't "hate" Sou. Carolina, I frankly don't care.  I'm not a big fan of Spurrier, but that is due to my perception of his charactistics, and behavioral lack of control; it has nothing to do with where he's coaching.  Of course I didn't like losing to Sou. Carolina, but I don't like losing to anyone:  does any fan of any school?  BTW, kudos on your spelling and expression.  You'd make Webster proud!

If this action figure had some books in it's hand, it would probably fetch the real big money.  Money mouth

I for one love Spurrier, but tell me how this kid is going to be able to handle him? He said Saban talks alot and that's one reason why he didn't choose Bama. What is he going to do when Spurrier is in football mode? Is he going to get his feelings hurt when Spurrier benches him for a major screw up? The kid may be good, but he hasn't proven anything yet. It's one thing to be 6'6' 240 against high school kids, but when he is going up against other 6'6" 270-300 people, it's a little different.

I wish South Carolina the best of luck. They beat Bama fair and square this year and there are no excuses for the loss, other than Carolina was the better team that day. But one man isn't going to make a team, and I think Carolina had it's best shot at the SEC title this year. Next year, I think Florida will resume their roll at the top in the SEC east. I could be wrong, but either way, we will have to wait to see if Clowney gets to join S.C. this year or in 2???

Oh sure let me make a bid on some Jadeveon Clowney crap!  Shucks!  Now they've taken the auction down and I can't... sniff.  This comes not from any form of Bama jealousy, because frankly I don't think he's going to work out well in Spurrierville; as his success would have been of equal question in Tuscaloosa, "Clemsonville" or anywhere that huge egos come into play.  I came to believe sometime several weeks before his royal announcement that he has the type of ego that will not aid in his being a success in CFB.  I believe team unity is what you want.  He never went along with this whole idea?  Ha!  I doubt that a great deal.

I might get blasted for this but oh well, it'll be worth it.

Exactly how dumb to you have to be to NOT get into South Carolina?

True story there , AES. USC is really going to have to step up the academic fraud to keep this kid eligible. Jadeveon is a perfect example of why there should be a full fledged NFL minor league system.....so athletically gifted but extremely dumb kids like this can be drafted out of HS and start playing FB and drawing a paycheck rather than being fraudulently desguised as 'college' students.

The guy hasn't done anything yet.... I understand being excited about a player coming to your school, but this is a jinx. This truly may be a collectable of something that may never be. It depends on how hard Clowney decides to study to get his grades up. On the other side, McFarlen does great work but I think he is projecting the size of his guns in about 3 years....
