Just because we are in the offseason, that doesn't mean that Aubrn can't find a way to make it into the college football headlines.  On Friday, the Auburn Police Department issued a report that four Auburn football players had been arrested for armed robbery.

On Friday, March 11, 2011, the Auburn Police Division arrested four people and charged each of them with five counts of Robbery 1st Degree, one count of Burglary 1st Degree, and one count of Theft of Property 3rd Degree. They are identified as Antonio M. Goodwin, age 20, Kowaski Q. Kitchens, age 19, Michael A. McNeil, age 22, and Harrison D. Mosley, age 19. All list an Auburn address. At approximately 12:25 a.m. this same date officers responded to a residence located in the 2300 block of Lee Road 137 (Wire Road) in reference to the report of a robbery that had just occurred. According to the five victims present, three black males entered the residence with one displaying a handgun. Personal property was stolen during the incident. No injuries were reported. A patrolman responding to the area observed what he believed to be the suspect vehicle based on a description he was given. Officers stopped the vehicle in the 1200 block of Wire Road and four suspects were taken into custody. A pistol and the stolen property was recovered at the scene. Goodwin, Kitchens, McNeil, and Mosley were transported to the Lee County Detention Center where each is currently being held on a $511,000 bond.

Obviously all very serious charges, head coach Gene Chizik wasted no time to take action.

"The players arrested in connection with this deeply troubling incident have been permanently dismissed from our football team," coach Chizik said in a prepared statement.  "While we realize the legal process will run its course and these young men have a right for their case to be heard, playing for Auburn University is an honor and a privilege. It is not a right."

Ohio State has set a new trend!

You would like to think that trend (OSU) would be winning the Big One.  It's not, they can't!!!  It's simply showing the rest of the brothers that you can do what you want at a D1 school and if the coach knows he'll help and cover it up.

Four Auburn players tied to robbery, arrested

No bias here, absolutlely no comparison.  If anything the NCAA was too hard on the OSU players.  Obviously the courts will take care of this one so we don't have to worry about the Association screwing up.

Four Auburn players tied to robbery, arrested

Get real, can't compare five players selling their stuff to four people committing felonies.  If Auburn players would have had a garage sale with their stuff, this wouldn't have even made the news.  OSU players weren't charged with intent to get a tattoo with an armed weapon.  Felons don't live in glass houses so drop the comparison.

Booster Power

maybe big, rich auburn fatcats like lowder and pat dye can pull some strings and pay the right people to get these charges "dismissed" and get the players back on the team, since they are starters.  that's how it works at auburn--just win baby.

Four Auburn players tied to robbery, arrested

You think Chizik would have dismissed Cam Newton right away if he'd been the one caught?

Four Auburn players tied to robbery, arrested

OSU five are still on the team, AU four aren't.  And your coach knew about it and lied.  And he played them in a bowl game, after he lied.  It's apparent you are living in a glass house.

Thank god all the the Buckeyes Tattoo Five didn't hold the artist at gunpoint for their tats...can u imagine what the media would do to OSU if something like this happened at the Football Capitol of the World(Columbus,Ohio)....geez,that can't get over some twenty year olds(making a mistake) selling their personl things for a small amount of cash and some ink.....then everyone wants to lynch their coach....what a world we live in.

Hey Bammer, can you spell Mike Price, Mike Shula, Ray Perkins, etc! You will be hard pressed to find an Auburn fan who doesn't agree with Coach Chizik's decision to boot thugs immediately!
