Just because we are in the offseason, that doesn't mean that Aubrn can't find a way to make it into the college football headlines.  On Friday, the Auburn Police Department issued a report that four Auburn football players had been arrested for armed robbery.

On Friday, March 11, 2011, the Auburn Police Division arrested four people and charged each of them with five counts of Robbery 1st Degree, one count of Burglary 1st Degree, and one count of Theft of Property 3rd Degree. They are identified as Antonio M. Goodwin, age 20, Kowaski Q. Kitchens, age 19, Michael A. McNeil, age 22, and Harrison D. Mosley, age 19. All list an Auburn address. At approximately 12:25 a.m. this same date officers responded to a residence located in the 2300 block of Lee Road 137 (Wire Road) in reference to the report of a robbery that had just occurred. According to the five victims present, three black males entered the residence with one displaying a handgun. Personal property was stolen during the incident. No injuries were reported. A patrolman responding to the area observed what he believed to be the suspect vehicle based on a description he was given. Officers stopped the vehicle in the 1200 block of Wire Road and four suspects were taken into custody. A pistol and the stolen property was recovered at the scene. Goodwin, Kitchens, McNeil, and Mosley were transported to the Lee County Detention Center where each is currently being held on a $511,000 bond.

Obviously all very serious charges, head coach Gene Chizik wasted no time to take action.

"The players arrested in connection with this deeply troubling incident have been permanently dismissed from our football team," coach Chizik said in a prepared statement.  "While we realize the legal process will run its course and these young men have a right for their case to be heard, playing for Auburn University is an honor and a privilege. It is not a right."

Four Auburn players tied to robbery, arrested

Gee, Mr. xz1themaster1xz, why don't you just worry about how well Georgia and Mark Richt are doing.  You ALWAYS seem to post when it's some other SEC team with troubles, but when stories about trouble UGA pop up, you are nowhere to be found.  Why is that?

Auburn Defending" Chizik The Cheat "

Now auburn wants to say that "Chizik The Cheat" will not stand for this kind of action. He allowed "Can The Scam" to play all year. He allowed the biggest cheat shot player in college football fairley to play all year. Now Auburn wants to scream he is a stand up guy. He is another urban meyer. He will cheat and cover up for his THUGS. JUST WIN BABY.

The four players should have huddled up with their buddy Cam before trying to pull the job, surely he could have given good advice on how not to get caught.RTR

Who should get paid first?

The kid in the lab that helps create cures for diseases or the kid that goes and plays a game??

Both generate large revenue.  One is ACTUALLY important when you have some perspective.

Look how much money these athlete's are makin the universities, pay'em something, most of them come from very poor back ground's, don't give all of them money just the one's that need it, GREEDY UNIES

Man, common sense has not been a friend to you has it. First off, they are getting paid. That education they are getting is not free for most of the students at the college. Second, who decides who gets what? The free education is not enough? Obviously they needed an education, because what they did was plain stupid.

BS! Chizik cut them immediately because he can do no more for them. These four are going to do nearly a decade in a state detention center if proven guilty. This is a societal problem, nothing whatsoever to do with athletics, Auburn, the south or some sick payback by God as some freaks are thinking.

They don’t have to hang their head in shame, just get kicked off the team, for a team infraction or get on probation.

Next step is to call Houston Nutt at Ole Miss, he can enroll them in the a program at Ole Miss that no other college has a curriculum, therefore they will not have to sit out a program. Also they will still be playing in the SEC.

Now we all know that Ole Miss is no Auburn, therefore if your enroll in Ole Miss you have a chance of playing. Ole Miss don’t have as much money as Auburn so expect a reduction in salary, but what the hell you are getting a quality education and a chance to play in the primer conference in college football.

This conference know all the angles and legal ways to circumvent the NCAA rules and bi-laws.

He got Jeremiah on the team after Oregon placed him on probation and cut him from the Oregon team. Not to see a under privileged kid go without an education and be denied a chance to graduate, coach Nutt found this program, enrolled him and, oh is he still at Ole Miss or since football season is over this course is no longer offered.

Well the coach will find something like Tree Cutting offered only at Ole Miss and get these under privileged kids on the way to an Ole Miss diploma. The will not have to sit out a year and the NCAA says it is legal.
