First Terrelle Pryor's lawyer threatened a lawsuit during an outraged radio interview, and now the photographer brought into question for paying Pryor for signed memorabilia has issued a denial of his own. Columbus photographer Dennis Talbott denied ever giving money to Pryor when speaking to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer on Thursday.

"They are potentially destroying people's lives," Talbott said in a phone interview. "It's not true. I haven't given him a dollar. I haven't given him anything perceived as an improper benefit."

In the damning anonymous interview on ESPN's Outside the Lines, a former friend of Pryor suggested that as many as 35 to 40 payments were made by Talbott for memorabilia, with the total earned ranging anywhere from $20,000 to $40,000. The website Sports By Brooks ran their own investigation on Talbott, collecting a series of photos and screen shots which suggest Talbott has not only been using an eBay name, "infickelwetrust," to sell autographed and game-used items from Ohio State football players, but also has been operating a side business - Varsity O Memorabilia, to sell signed memorabilia. Photos from Varsity O's Facebook page show items being signed/signed by A.J. Hawk, James Laurinaitis, Beanie Wells, Greg Oden, Mike Conley, Maurice Wells, Mike D'Andrea, Troy Smith, Quinn Pitcock, and former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel.

Talbott tried to tell the Plain-Dealer that he doesn't "have the wherewithal" to shell out the kind of money reported in the Outside the Lines piece. If Talbott, 40, has been running this multiple organization operation he should surely have the cash to arrange these payments. As far as the "infickelwetrust" eBay account, by Wednesday night the account had been deleted and all of the items had been removed.

Another case of he said-she said in Columbus, as the scandal slowly unravels and reveals a community - not just a coach - embracing ignorance in order to experience immediate success and gratification.

NoleCav... another juvienille community college boy with a hard on for anything and everything Ohio State...  the envy is strong in you young jedi.  Looking at your profile, all you do is chime in with below average smack attempts in any Ohio State thread you can find. Comically pathetic, but true.  Get a life Skippy, and zip up your pants and wash your hands.

Lol.  Attack the messenger and not the messege.  I know it helps you to think I'm a 'community college boy'.

That's all folks like you really have at this point.

And not envious of the OSU program in the least.  I couldn't imagine why anyone would be at this point.

Btw, most of what I post isn't smack, but rather correcting the misrepresentations by folks like you.

Good luck with the coming worse-than-USC sanctions.

This isn't a "media driven non-scandal." While the media is certainly helping it along, it is a scandal, and the media had grabbed hold and isn't letting go. Things have gone on that are against the rules, and I think the media (just as I do) wants to clean up the sport (but not so much that they don't have anything to report) and has decided that Ohio State is where we should start. The USC situation certainly didn't spur anyone to clean up their programs, so something drastic and explosive needs to happen. I'm not saying it's right that they're picking on OSU, but someone needs to be made an example of so that we can get this crap under control.

Chip Patterson, why should he surely have the cash to arrange these payments? Do you have any financial records to prove this? In todays economy I surely doubt a self employed photographer/memorabilia dealer has an extra 20k to 40k to throw around. More garbage writing on this site as always, and keep Columbus out of your mouth. The University and the community are not intertwined here in ignorance.

He would not need $20,000-40,000 at once.

Have Pryor sign 30 footballs for $1000.....sell them for whatever.....and then have more cash to give to Pryor to sign more.  And so on and so on.

I'm not saying he's guilty of doing this, but let's not pretend it would be impossible to do with relatively limited resources.
