The NCAA's Committee on Infractions has been busy lately, meeting with Boise State for 13 hours on Friday. On Saturday it was Tennessee's turn, which meant Lane Kiffin was back in his old stomping grounds. Kiffin spoke with reporters after the hearing, and while he wouldn't go into specifics over what was discussed during the meeting, he did express relief that it was over.

“It was a very fair process,” Kiffin told the Knoxville News Sentinel. “I’m glad that it’s over, and I can get back to LA, and get back to our camps that are going on right now. Under the direction of the NCAA, we can’t comment about (specifics) at all.

“It was a lot shorter than the last one. I sat through three days of USC’s (hearing). I’m just happy that it’s over. I’m happy we got to get the truth presented, and so we’re going from here.”

Of course, just because the hearing is over, that doesn't mean Tennessee's problems are. After Kiffin's turn with the COI, attention was turned to Tennessee's men's basketball program and the disgressions under Bruce Pearl. As for the football team, though it's not exactly Kiffin's concern any longer as to what will happen at Tennessee, there's no time table as to when the NCAA will come to a decision on the school's hearing.

Kiffin 'glad' COI hearing is over

The run at USC will be coming to an end, as UCLA has made distinct inroads in the recruiting wars of CA.

You're clueless...Ricky is barely holding on to his job, and this year depends on whether he's back or not, and ya know why? Because they blow, he blows, they will always blow, and they will continue to be SC's foot stool.  Yep, no bias on your

"Disgressions"?  Really?

I suppose you meant to type "discretions."  Give this guy his etch-a-sketch back, that's pitiful.

Kiifin is perhaps one of the most over rated coaches on the college scene. His tenure in the NFL speaks for itself. At high power schools he has done poorly, leaving not omly the cuboard void of recriuts, but in the gun sights of the NCAA. Beside the development of one QB while there the first time, he has needed his dad's help during his tenure at TN.
It is amazing as one watches him stuble and bumble from one to the next how he always leads upright on his feet.

Kiffin 'glad' COI hearing is over

As long as Kiffin doesn't have a moral bone in his body (especially backbone),  it will never be over for him.    A cheater can always rationalize his actions.     He is like the  eight year old kid that no one wanted to play with because  simply cheats,  well,   except USC.

Kiffin 'glad' COI hearing is over

This is all becomimg humorous now. Out of all the schools with winning traditions in te past quarter of a century, I would be very surprised to find 10 percent that has totally followed the rules. It seems that the ones getting busted are the ones that believe that they are omipotent. There has to be some common sense, even when cheating is happening. You cannot give players new cars, flashy jewerly, etc. without it being noticed. As has been suggested, pay the players a couple of hundred dollars a week to survive, then drastically punish the players and coaches that are cheating. The idea of the players having no money and risking their careers for the schools that are raking in millions and millions of dollars is ludicrous. Time to change this crazy mindset and to change with the times.

USC was/is one of the worst schools for infractions currently.  Both Carrol and Kiffin are cheaters.  I can't believe that USC, or I can believe, would hire the same type of coach back to back.   It really doesn't matter to them since they made about $100 million on bowl games in the last ten years with paid players.   What is a 2-3 year suspension, when in 3 years, you will be at it again.

USC can hand out 15 scholarships per year.  So if you want to play for USC and you are at least a 4 or 5 star player, you better sign earlier rather than later.  In addition, after next season, the 75 player limit will apply.  USC is only losing 13 seniors and no doubt a couple of juniors will turn pro.   Still, there might be some current players who lose their scholarship.
When SEC schools line up to play USC in Los Angeles then SEC fans can criticize the USC coach.  But Pete Carroll received a lot of criticism too.  Yes, Kiffin was an SC coach before he was a Raider coach or UTenn coach.  So was Orgeron, yes the SEC stole him away from USC also.  In fact, even Urban Meyer was a Mountain West Coach the SEC stole from Utah.  Seems the SEC schools love to steal outside coaches but hates to play those very same nonconference teams.  Oh sure, now we will get the exception about Oregon playing in Baton Rouge...the first game of the year.
Those very same ESPN announcers who were hating on Kiffin last year were all over Tressel like Weiner on a high school sophmore.

It will be 'over' for Lame Kiffen when his actions cause the NCAA to place USC on the death penalty and his butt get's fired afterwards!
