NCAA investigation of Auburn isn't over

If you thought that the NCAA's investigation of Auburn and its recruitment of Cam Newton was over, then it seems you'd be wrong. At least, that's the impression NCAA Vice President of Enforcement Julie Roe Lach gave Auburn head coach Gene Chizik last month. That's when football and basketball coaches from the SEC were in Destin, Florida where Lach made a presentation to the group.

According to a report in the New York Times, after Lach opened up her presentation for discussion, Chizik had quite a few questions for her and then she dropped a bombshell on him.
[Chizik] peppered Roe Lach with a flurry of questions about the N.C.A.A.’s investigation into Cam Newton and why the N.C.A.A. had not publicly announced that the investigation was over. Chizik complained that the inquiry’s open-ended nature had hurt Auburn’s recruiting and he followed up at least three times, leading to a testy exchange.

“You’ll know when we’re finished,” Roe Lach told Chizik, according to several coaches who were at the meeting. “And we’re not finished.”
Well then!

While neither the NCAA or Auburn would confirm the exchange between Chizik and Roe Lach, according to the New York Times report, four fellow SEC basketball coaches -- Vanderbilt's Kevin Stallings, Arkansas' Mike Anderson, LSU's Trent Johnson and Ole Miss' Andy Kennedy -- did confirm the exchange to the paper.

Of course, just because the investigation isn't over, that doesn't mean the NCAA is going to find any new evidence than what it has already and use it to punish Auburn. Still, the fact that the NCAA is still digging around can't be all that comforting for Auburn faithful.

NCAA investigation of Auburn isn't over

It is kind of funny to see the bickering back and forth between Bama fans and Auburn fans. You guys really don't like eachother. Maybe you should just duke it out and see who wins (sarcasm)

NCAA investigation of Auburn isn't over

I don't have time to read all of these comments, but evidently, some LSU fans have gotten under the skin of some Auburn fans.  I thought I should stop reading before I read any more ridiculous rebuttals from Auburn fans.  To say LSWho is just reaching for something.  If you don't know who LSU is, you have no business on a college football board in the first place.  To act like Auburn blew LSU out is pure nonsense.  Yes, Newton ran all over us, but LSU had the ball in a tie game halfway through the fourth quarter.  Congrats to Auburn for stopping us and scoring on a big play shortly after, but the game came down to the end with LSU having a shot.  If you would have beaten us 35-0 that would have been different.  LSU is one of two SEC programs without any major NCAA sanctions since 1988, the start of the BCS or whatever they called it then.  Auburn can say nothing of the sort, and the NCAA is not done with them yet.  I do not hate any team in college football, but Auburn is my least favorite team in the conference.  IF they are found to be dirty and lose their title, so be it.  Cheaters should never prosper.  While I, like many people with common sense think something dirty went on with the Newton recruitment, I do doubt that it will ever be proven as it is easy to hide money in an church.  Newton was a great college talent and he and Fairly had great seasons and Auburn won a NC.  Good for them.  But, both Newton and Fairley are gone and Auburn can go back to 8-4 type seasons.  Have a nice day!

Hey RebelRaider, you arent welcomed here either.  Why dont you and the LS (WHO) people go play in your own sandbox.  The more you post here, the more ignorant you appear to be.  Dude, you already have a L tatooed to your forehead, why dont you just give it up.  We have had enough laughs at your feeble attempts to piss people off with your pathetic trash talk.  We at Auburn are winners, we hold our heads high a poke our chests out with pride. Our banners we fly high, our jerserys and t-shirts are worn with class and it is very evident that we were also educated at such a fine institution.  You, on the otherhand, are ignorant crybabby wannabes whose only agenda is to smear mud on successful people like us.  You should be oh so thankful that Walmart provides you a place to shop so you can appear to be half-way intelligent.  Dont go away mad now, just go away....'nough said  WAR DAMN EAGLE !!!

@rebels...

I am really glad to see you are keeping your cool in this debate.  Look, I know why you hate Auburn.  We threaten everything that you are.  I get it.  Your whole life is Bama and you cannot stand when another team in the state has success.  A sucess you feel is rightfully yours because you won a lot of games a long time ago.  But listen up, don't let your hate for Auburn cloud your judgment.

You are a lying in denial piece of Sh**. Pure and simple.

Never lied.  Never denied.  Just simply saying we don't know all the facts.

Even your coach was in denial until he was put in his place. and yes, most Auburn fans believed or at least told everyone else for months that there was no investigation.

There are more Auburn fans than just the ones that call in to PF.  Most Auburn fans knew that an investigation was going on, heck, they never made an announcement they closed it, which is why Chizik himself asked.  Again, we just think nothing will come of it.  And Chizik is not in denial.  He is just wondering what is going on or taking so long.  Every right to ask.

The facts I posted were the RULES pertaining to PLAYER REINSTATEMENT PROCDURES, ...straight from the NCAA website....but you still could not grasp the meaning of the words they used, or you just not not to believe them.

No I understood them.  All I said was what you eventually said to me.  If they had something, it would have been the other way around, kind of like the Ohio State situation.  At the time of the reinstatement, if the NCAA had anything on Auburn, or Auburn felt they were in the wrong or in harms way of any kind, that reinstatement hearing would have never taken place.  So, by default, only three things could have happened.  Either the NCAA had nothing on Auburn, Auburn felt confident enough to roll the dice, or both.

Not once in this thread did I ever say anyting WAS going to happen to Auburn.

Go back, and read more carefully and you will see I made no accusation as to what happened at Auburn..I just pointed out that you were a blind, in denial, douchebag tool, just like most of the morons from that sh** hole that post on these boards

No but it pretty clear what your agenda is.

Hope you don't go on trial anytime soon....you'll deny your even there.

Nice dodge.  Keep ignoring that you have nothing on Auburn and are not man enough to admit you don't know all the facts. It's really comical.

Hope you are not on any juries in the future.  You will convict someone with nothing.

So, go to your own forums and play tiddily winks with each other, and keep your PATHETIC accusations, denial of the facts, ignorant, self-absorbed out of our rooms.

So true, LSU guy was trying to say that Auburn has a complex.  Yeah, this coming from a guy who entered an Auburn thread and immediately tried to pick a fight with Auburn fans.

NCAA investigation of Auburn isn't over

For months Auburn fans have been screaming there is no investigation.

No we haven't.  We have just said we think it will lead to nothing.

Then we have an Article from the NYT, about an event a month ago, that let ole Cheesedic know without a doubt, there absolutley is an investigation....and what do we hear from Auburn fans?

nothing but pure BS. More denail from tools on the plains.

No, we just claim it is blown out of proportion.  The answer to Chizik's question was the same answer we knew the whole time.

Anyone listen the PF yesterday?

Well, you just summed up everything I need to know about how you recieve your information.

Post facts and you are accused of buying into rumors

What facts did you post?  Sounds to me like all you posted was "that you think something may come out", or that you think that because Cam's reinstatement didn't invole any investigation facts that Auburn should be worried.  Well guess what retard...I think nothing will come out.  Prove to me you are right and I am wrong.  How about you wait until the cards are dealt?  Until then you are sour grapes whiny baby like always.

So, AUTiger7788, I do not believe for one second you will be here to eat crow. If something does come out, you'll be right here with every other tAUrd claiming Auburn is getting the shaft, or some other conspiracy bs.

Yeah I will.  I just don't think it will happen.  I guess you are not man enough to admit that it is possible Auburn is in the clear.  WOW.  With absolutely nothing, but yeah, I am the one with a complex.  Hope you are not on any juries in the future.  You will convict someone with nothing.
