The specter of NCAA scrutiny is, apparently, still hanging over Ohio State. As the school prepares to meet with the NCAA Committee on Infractions on Friday, a report has surfaced that the NCAA is still investigating OSU, and has let the school know thusly.

According to ESPN, the NCAA has sent Ohio State another letter, this one informing the school that its investigation is still ongoing. This would make sense, as most of the accusations against Terrelle Pryor have come after the NCAA's original notice of allegations, which focused almost exclusively on the actions of since-departed head coach Jim Tressel

For as much as this reported letter is, it's also important to emphasize what it isn't: another notice of allegations. As Ohio State announced, there have been no new allegations brought against the school, and ESPN's report doesn't make clear what's in the actual letter sent from the NCAA to OSU. So from a material standpoint, Ohio State is in no worse shape right now than it was before it received the letter.

Still, it's reasonable to believe that the NCAA's investigation is still continuing, and that it won't be time to exhale in Columbus even after Friday's COI meeting. For a school that's already spent $800,000 and counting on this probe, that's hardly welcome news.

Report: NCAA still investigating Ohio State

Yaaaawwwwnnn,, Since May the NCAA has stated that on August 12th the OSU athletic program would be facing the NCAA.  This is not breaking news.  It's been known since around April so thank you very little for the fabricated drama newsflash!

Report: NCAA still investigating Ohio State

Why so many haters on the buckeyes? Stop being JEALOUS and worry about your own team. The last thing i do is go to Auburns, Oregons, Alabamas, michigans, North Carolina,USC Etc and start stuff. The reason why i dont do it is because NO college is innocent. Yes we made a mistake and Tress should have reported it, but he didnt and life goes on. Espn is out to try and bash Ohio state any possible way they can for the ratings, and for all of you haters who want to see us go down because the sucess we have had.  I dont like any other team who is just as succesful as ohio state, but that doesnt mean i am going to go and call them the dirtiest team in college or get they should get the death penalty when they do something wrong. On a good note, cant wait for college football to start, and hopefully someone besides the Sec wins the title. Report: NCAA still investigating Ohio State

How is that ignorant?
And then ...

That rabble you call a football team is an oh-so-stellar 2-6 against college football teams from the State of Ohio over the past 5 years.  What is to say that the Bobcats couldn't punk the Skunkweasels too?
Meaning of course the first question was rhetorical. I'm sorry your state and university have been completely embarrassed but is coming here to further that embarrassment really what you want to do?

Report: NCAA still investigating Ohio State

Ohio is a University a few hours Southeast of Columbus.   It is located in Athens, Ohio.  They have athletic teams that partake in sports as part of the Mid American Conference.  Their colors are green and white and their mascot is the Bobcat.   They, like Ohio State,  would beat your current football program like a red headed stepchild.
Wow! That's world class ignorant

Report: NCAA still investigating Ohio State

Although CBS and ESPN are reticent to report it, most of the stories about Ohio State have been debunked.  As one prominent alum said, "And this is it?  Tressel was fired for this?"

Did that same prominent alum question, if it all really wasn't a big deal, why Tressel lied about it for 10 months?
