The four LSU players involved in last Friday's Baton Rouge bar fight have met with police, CBS affiliate WAFB has reported, and no criminal charges have yet been filed.

Starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson -- along with Jarvis Landry, Josh Johns, and Chris Davenport -- visited the Louisiana State Police Headquarters Tuesday in order to meet with investigators. According to both players' attorney Nathan Fisher and police, no arrests were made at the meeting nor charges filed.

"There were no charges promised and no charges not promised," Fisher told the Times-Picayune. "After today, I think they have some more investigating to do."

Batron Rouge police chief DeWayne White spoke to the media Friday afternoon, saying that one victim had suffered three broken vertebrae and that it was BRPD's "hope and aim" to gather enough evidence to make arrests in the case. But that point has not arrived yet, and White warned that that point might not arrive immediately.

"Until we're able to sift through the evidence, sift through the statements and arrive at the truth, that may take some time," White said. "Will we give fast results? We will not, because it doesn't work like that."

White confirmed that BRPD had obtained video from the scene outside Shady's bar, but that it does not show the fight itself. He added that the investigation has been further hampered by conflicting reports and a lack of "objective" witnesses.

Police spokesman Donald Stone reaffirmed, however, what he had stated Monday: that he expects both simple and second-degree battery charges -- the latter a felony -- to be filed "when the case is concluded." Stone has confirmed that the parties injured in the fight "have expressed a desire that those responsible for their injuries be arrested."

According to several alleged witnesses who spoke to WAFB, one of those players was Jefferson. But with Tuesday's meeting having come and gone without an arrest and a report from TigerSportsDigest that the senior QB was not in fact involved with the brawl, things have begun to look up for him.

No charges filed in LSU meeting with police

I wonder if they will file charges after the Oregon game?  Keep them eligible for that one, let the suspensions for an arrest happen during the easier non-conference games...

I think the key word in all of this is "YET".  The fact that no charges have been filed "yet" does not mean that everyone gets off scott free.  Some here are celebrating like this is over, and others are claiming favortism like this is over.  It is not.  None of us know the facts, but many here act like they do.  I suspect much more information will come out in the next few days.  Until then, anyone acting like they know anything is just an idiot.

If you play in the SEC the best bowl is the Sugar Bowl if your not playing in a title game.  You obviously know nothing about college football.  You must be some lonely Ohio State fan who is still dwelling on the last National Championship game against an SEC school.  You should get a kiddie pool, a load of dirt, and some water.  Mix it all together and then go stick your head in it.

The Hat has kicked a former QB off of the team and he will do it again.  This is America....  Innocent until proven guilty.

What do you really expect?

This is the second time that this school had a QB and players involved in a fight since the "Hat" has been in charge.

I'll, grand you what the guys did at Ohio State was wrong (selling their own stuff, knowing it was against the NCAA rules, and getting a five game suspension). I can, will live with that.

But someone give me a fen' break.
The most for kicking someone in the head and sending them to a emergeny room, and all they will get from the a$$-hole "HAT"  or Lucky State U. is a one game suspension (probably when they play that division 1AA pussy?)
WOW I'm impressed!!!

GO Pussy Cats!!!; sounds like a song huh? (well it should, we keep hearing it over and over and over again). Somethings never change and a second tier program is one of em'.

It don't really matter, one thing for sure Less will lose at least two (I say Three) games, with or with-ot J.J.

If it wasn't for the Sugar Bowl, this school wouldn't know what a Major Bowl looked like (last one-- Orange: 1974!!, I'm not counting but that's something like 36-37 tears ago.

I just read Baton Rouge Police Chief, Donald White, said one of the persons involved in the altercation has three broken vertabrae.  Man, this is going to get ugly, as if it's not already.

Over/Under on charges being filed

Sept. 5th.

One has to wonder how many calls this detective has received from superiors and colleagues about the timing of the charges.

LSU fans see this as a plus !! Since JJ has not been able to connect on the field. This could be a sign he is finally on the right track !! LOL ! Smile
