The investigation into what happened between LSU football players and others at a bar fight last Thursday night continues, and on Wednesday police were at the homes of four different LSU players, including Jordan Jefferson, searching for evidence. This after the Baton Rouge police interviewed the players on Tuesday, though no charges were filed.

What exactly were the police looking for in the player's home on Wednesday? Well, if Jordan Jefferson's bare feet are any indication, they were looking for some shoes. From our LSU Rapid Reporter Glenn Gulibeau:
Baton Rouge Police took the shoes off QB Jordan Jefferson's feet and 48 other pairs from his apartment during a search Wednesday night in relation to the ongoing investigation into Jefferson's and three other players' involvement in a bar fight last week, police spokesman Don Stone said. "Police seized 49 pairs of (athletic) shoes," Stone said.
That is a lot of shoes.

Police spokesman Don Stone would not comment directly on why the police were so interested in Jefferson's shoes, but he did say that the police usually look for blood stains on the clothes. There have been reports that one member of the LSU football team kicked a Marine in the face during the fight, though those reports have not been confirmed by the police.

What's the big deal here that's warrenting an investigation anyway? A bar fight? There were three a night in each of 12 bars in Morgantown (WVU) when I was there. And if one of the football players got the jump on a Marine...well that's his own fault. He's a trained hand-to-hand combat fighter who's hands are considered "deadly weapons".

There nothing but PUNK THUGS who should be thrown out of school. Real tough guys kicking someone when he's down on the ground. Typical SCUMBAG move. Not to mention it's a Marine, one of the people who is risking his life so we can live the life we're living, another DIRTBAG SCUMBAG move. Just for it being a Marine they should be thrown in jail. SCUMBAGS!!!!!!!!!

He probably has one to match every shirt he has. Oh and I'm not kidding. I have students(12-14 years-olds) who actually have shoes to match every outfit they have. One kid had at least 20.

Shoes to these kids are the most important item they have. They bring brushes and polish, if they scuff them.
I know exactly what you are talking about. I knew a guy that had maybe 100 pairs of shoes, all the same brand and style but in countless colors. Probably spent well over $100 on each. He didn't own much else, but he had those shoes... talk about priorities.

To the guy who said they are like video games, hardly. These guys spend at least triple digits on their shoes. A video game is $40 or $50, maybe $60 if you get ripped off by Gamestop all the time. And I don't know many people that own 100+ video games that cost $100 apiece.

It would also show that in America you are guilty until you prove your innocence. Same thing happened to the Duke lacrosse players and you see what that got Duke U.
