The investigation into what happened between LSU football players and others at a bar fight last Thursday night continues, and on Wednesday police were at the homes of four different LSU players, including Jordan Jefferson, searching for evidence. This after the Baton Rouge police interviewed the players on Tuesday, though no charges were filed.

What exactly were the police looking for in the player's home on Wednesday? Well, if Jordan Jefferson's bare feet are any indication, they were looking for some shoes. From our LSU Rapid Reporter Glenn Gulibeau:
Baton Rouge Police took the shoes off QB Jordan Jefferson's feet and 48 other pairs from his apartment during a search Wednesday night in relation to the ongoing investigation into Jefferson's and three other players' involvement in a bar fight last week, police spokesman Don Stone said. "Police seized 49 pairs of (athletic) shoes," Stone said.
That is a lot of shoes.

Police spokesman Don Stone would not comment directly on why the police were so interested in Jefferson's shoes, but he did say that the police usually look for blood stains on the clothes. There have been reports that one member of the LSU football team kicked a Marine in the face during the fight, though those reports have not been confirmed by the police.

Huskeyfever, more power to your friend, but if anyone thinks a 20- or 21-year old has the money to be a shoe collector as a college student, and as a college football player who stupidly cannot work at a job, then they're smoking more than Jefferson was probably selling to be able to BUY that money pairs of shoes.

When I read that police seized 49 pairs of the dude's shoes, the only question I thought of was ...... Why did they leave the other 51 pairs?

My best friend has about 50 pairs of Jordans because he is a collector of them. Some people like to collect shoes so it doesn't amaze me he has that many shoes.

Lol at those who think Jordan Jefferson has been receiving money from boosters, come on, the guy sucks. Who would pay him?, he stole the shoes. He didn't break the NCAA rules, he broke the law.

I find it funny that people are wondering where Jefferson found the money for 49 pairs of shoes.... He was given money to buy them. Probably from boosters or by big money guys in his neighborhood back when he was in HS. Big time athletes at big time schools get paid. It's just a matter of who is going to get caught and when. People who say I never got paid and they were top notch players at a Big D1 school in a major sport is probably lying.

We will see what happens here. It sounds like they really want to press charges on Jefferson for the battery but need more evidence to do so. Seizing 49 pairs of shoes is definitely a sign that they have many people saying he is they guy and they are tyring to build a case.

Anyhow if he did do it then he hopefully will be properly punished. And if he didn't do it maybe he will learn from this experience and not put himself in situations where he could be blamed for such crimes.

All and all athletes who are good and at big time programs get paid and if you say they don't you are nieve.

Why would a guy ever need 49 pairs of shoes and considering a nice pair of shoes is 100+ bucks now a days, where did he get the money to dump that much into shoes. 49 pairs is a lot of shoes.

Jefferson is not the Imela Marcos of college football. They should probably check the Bruno Maglis first.

This does spark the debate as to college athletes needing to get paid. If Jefferson can afford 49 pairs of shoes, he obvioulsy had enough money to lead a good college lifestyle. Or maybe he did not pay for them with his own money. I think that scholarship athletes should be required to submit receipts when abnormal situations like these come up.

At first look I thought wow 49 pairs of shoes, this guy must be getting paid.  Then I came to my senses, who the hell would pay the worst QB in college football.

Someone axed "...who owns 49 pairs of "athletic" shoes?" Consider that we're talking about a culture whereby masculinity and social standing are represented by the size of automobile rims, stereo speakers, sneakers, body markings and/or piercings. Then the answer becomes "...a lot more people than you might think". We're not talking about a traditional value system here. Seriously. Who puts $10,000 worth of tires and rims on a car worth $400? Forty-nine pairs of sneakers are par for the course. Probably has two hundred ball caps (with flat brims).
