Missouri has a decision to make about what conference they'll be in for the forseeable future after the school's Board of Curators gave their chancellor the ok to pursue any and all options. Head coach Gary Pinkel jumped on the Tim Brando Show to give his thoughts about realignment and talk about where his program's future lies.

One suggestion for the Mizzou Admin (and persons close to the situation) DO NOT say anything about the conf. before they say yes. The tigers are still banking on the Big 10 but have been shot down time and time again so you make a push for the SEC and partly because some came out and said that The SEC was your second choice they are Balking at the idea. If the Big 12 picks up TCU STAY they WANT you and will evolve into a geat conf. again. between UT, OU, MIZZOU, and TCU that is a pretty good top four be patient and like the song says " if can't be with one you love, love the one your with"

Go to SEC first, wait for B1G @ 2016

Just dont stay in BXII, you don't want to sign rights over. SEC is better option, you can leave once B1G is ready in 2016

Here's the problem, Ohtiger: Credability; the Tigers have none.  The B1G doesn't want Missouri; that's a fact known by all.  The SEC doesn't trust you, and feels you'll move if something better comes along; The Big 12 doesn't trust Mizzou because they've already indicated that don't want to be part of the Big 12, but the Big 12 will "temporarily" tolerate the Tigers.  Which of the remaining conferences is interested in a school with a reputation like Missouri's?

Mizzou is a better fit in the SEC in the Big 10 because the southeast is where the population shift is.  The SEC is also the best football conference in the U.S.  Delaney had the chance to grab Missouri last year, but tried to do it on the cheap, which he apparently was successful in doing with Nebraska.  Entering a new conference with a junior share of revenue has to be fairly disheartening for the Cornhuskers, even if they did escape the cancer that Texas is to the Big 12.

Missouri borders Arkansas, Kentucky & Tennessee.  It's southern counties more resemble the southern states than it does the midwest.  It's a natural NW anchor for the SEC, bringing two big TV markets, KC and St. Louis with it.

The media continue to bring up the Big 10.  Is this a conspiracy to tank Missouri to the SEC?  Sure does seem so with some of the yellow journalism lately.  If you look at the Missouri fan polls, though, the Big 10 doesn't even rank 3rd, 4th or 5th option -- it's the SEC overwhelmingly.  That's why the media articles questioning the Big 10 appear to be more agendas (at the request of whom, Texas?) than professional articles.

Texas and Oklahoma have already gone on record that the Big 12 will survive if Missouri leaves.  Why the need for the yellow journalism campaign toward Missouri then?  Is Texas stinging from knowing that most knowledgeable college follwers know that they have been the cancer of the Big 12, and subsequently trying to deflect culpability?  I'd bet that's EXACTLY what is going on.  And they're finding many talentless, lazy writers who otherwise wouldn't have a chance to attach their name to an article about this to publish their propaganda.

First of all, Coop, the B1G has been courting ND for years, but the Irish have this little problem with sharing NBC TV revenue.  Greed is one of the seven deadly sins, you know.  Next, the B1G is far more interested in Army, Navy, and Air Force; they offer better academics and citizens than the schools you mentioned, and the B1G would still get the NYC market with Army, Baltimore with Navy, and Denver with Air Force.

The BIG 10 should invite MIZZOU and Notre Dame.  They should also invite UCONN and Rutgers before the ACC does.

Why would the BIG 10 not want the Kansas City, St Louis, and New York City markets.  Add ND's national appeal and they could be the big winners in the conference expansion arms race.

The SEC should add South Florida, Cincy, and Lousiville.

Now that the ACC has Pitt and Syracuse, they should invite West Virginia and Cental Florida.

The Big East is done, they can still stay as a Hoops only conference.

Mizzou is a better fit in the BIG 10 than in the SEC, either move for them is probably better than staying in the Big 12 though.

The SEC is the one with the decision to make not Missouri. Mizzou already decided that they want the SEC but does the SEC want them?
