We were hoping for the best and expecting the worst when it came to the status of Oklahoma wide receiver Ryan Broyles' injured left knee, and we've gotten what we were expecting. According to John Hoover of the Tulsa World, Broyles has suffered a torn ACL in the knee and his season, and Oklahoma career, are over because of it.

Broyles suffered the injury in the third quarter of Oklahoma's 41-25 win over Texas A&M on Saturday. He planted on his left leg in an odd fashion after making a catch and turning upfield to gain more yards. He clutched the knee after being tackled and was then helped off the field before being seen in tears on the sideline.

Broyles finishes the season with 83 receptions for 1,157 yards and 10 touchdowns.

In his career Broyles has caught 347 passes for 4,586 yards and 45 touchdowns. The 347 receptions are more than any other player in NCAA history. Broyles was also a Biletnikof finalist last season and decided to come back to Oklahoma for another season even though he'd have been a first round pick in the NFL to try and win a national championship.

Ryan Broyles has a torn ACL, his season is over

While I don't doubt he will recover, no team will draft a WR in the 1st round if he can't run before the draft.
Check your facts. The Broncos drafted DeMarius Thomas as the first overall reciever, who did not run for the combine because of a broken ankle.

Ryan Broyles has a torn ACL, his season is over

It is too premature to think about his draft stock. He first has to repair and let his injury heal properly and hope that there are no setbacks in his recovery time. Is he an NFL caliber player? Of course he is and any NFL team that needs a reciever will quickly grab him up.

Too bad that he ended his college career this way. I wish him the best.

Go USC!!

Ryan Broyles has a torn ACL, his season is over

Broyles has a small window to get surgery and then recover from the injury.

He will be drafted but he is NOT a first round pick IF he does not show he has his speed back before the NFL draft. Period.

While I don't doubt he will recover, no team will draft a WR in the 1st round if he can't run before the draft.

This is not like Bradford who was injured in Sep. and took a month to figure out if he even needed surgery for a sprained shoulder. He still had plenty of time before the draft with a 4 to 6 month estimate for the recovery.

For those who don't understand, a sprained shoulder is nothing like a TORN ACL. Surgery will be needed and April 26 is a tight window for ACL surgery.

I wish him luck but the fact remains, if he can't run he will not go 1st round.

don't forget travis lewis, he came back from being a possible first rounder also, but his toe injury has him in the second to third round even with his production thus far.

Ryan Broyles has a torn ACL, his season is over

Guys who have come back lately for the Sooners and gotten hurt...Sam Bradford, Ryan Broyles, and jermaine gresham.  It tells a lot about the program that these guys continue to come back when they are NFL level players to play for the Sooners.  Unfortunate for Broyels and the Sooners but the next man has to step up and Broyels has to worry about preparing himself for the NFL and hopefully graduating!

All you have to do is look at mock drafts, i am not an idiot I just told you what the drafts are reporting. If you want to call someone an idiot then call the people doing the drafts idiots, I am just reporting what they are saying.  Dumbass.

You're an idiot. He was first round all the way.  He was projected first round last year.  You're speaking out your azz.
