On Monday, Pennsylvania state police commissioner Frank Noonan and attorney general Linda Kelly encouraged alleged victims of former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky to come forward and assist the state's investigation. Noonan and Kelly publicized two phone numbers for the potential victims to call in order to contact investigators. One day later, it looks as if their call has been heard.

According to Fox 29 in Philadelphia, the number of alleged victims in the Sandusky case has doubled, and now approaches 20. As of Monday, Sandusky had been charged with indecent acts against eight minors.

Sources tell Fox 29 since a press conference on Monday, the number of potential victims has more than doubled in the case.

On Monday, Pennsylvania state attorney general Linda Kelly said the Sandusky case was consideried an on-going investigation and more charges could be coming.

According to the grand jury presentment, Sandusky's alleged sexual assaults on minors stretch back to his days as a Penn State coach, and more allegedly occurred in Penn State football facilities even after Sandusky had retired.

There have been no details about the new allegations publicized as yet, and though additional charges may yet be issued, Sandusky still faces the 40 charges he was issued on Friday. Thus, at this time the official facts about the Sandusky case remain the same.

Those with information have been asked to contact investigators from the Office of Pennsylvania Attorney General at 814-863-1053 or Pennsylvania State Police at 814-470-2238.

Report: Alleged Sandusky victim number doubles

What a bunch of morons.  Have you even read the articles, Paterno didn't see it happen.  It was reported to him the next day.  My guess if someone told you they saw a rape or murder the next day that you wouldn't report it either other than to your superviser, otherwise you might have to stay around after your quitting time to deal with questions you wouldn't know how to answer since you didn't observe it yourself.  Does it make you feel superior to criticize others after the fact.  Have any of you been out with friends when one of them has had too much to drink and then left to drive home.  Did you stop them, every time.  If you didn't. did you call the police. after all your friend could have caused an accident and killed someone.  Please don't tell me it's different because it isn't.  In fact you are worse because you saw it yourself and didn't do anything about it.  I expect a lot of resignations tomorrow.  BTW- I am no fan of Paterno or Penn State.
Bowie7, do you really believe there's no difference between raping a child and driving drunk? It's true we all need to look at our own choices and ask if we are doing the right thing rather than look the other way, otherwise we are hypocrites, but you need to get your analogies straight. Sexual abuse of a child is in itself evil/immoral/illegal; driving drunk is illegal because of the potential consequences, but it's not evil or immoral by itself. Pretty big difference which I hope you appreciate on further reflection.

Report: Alleged Sandusky victim number doubles

Lets just end all the nonsense right now.  If one of my workers came to me with what Mcquery came to Paterno with, I immediately would call the police.  No, question.  I would then go to my boss and demand that the accused isnt allowed within fifty miles of my workplace or Im quitting.  If Paterno had the morals or the balls to tell his boss he was resigning unless Sandusky was fired immediately, children could have been saved.  They would have fired Sandusky.   In 1998 Sandusky admitted to police that he showered and hugged the victim in the shower and that "he was wrong for doing that"  He then retired as Paternos' assistant the following year.   Are we to believe Paterno wasn't privy to this police investigation, and admittance by Sandusky??   He would have had to have been briefed as to what happened and what Sandusky admitted.  Paterno was his boss for christ sake.  Do, you think Sandusky retired on his own the following year??  HE was forced to retire, or he probably was facing a trial.  In any event Paterno knew all the facts, and yet he still allowed this pedophile to come onto campus as late as last week and use the weight room.  Paternos weight room.   Sandusky played for Paterno , coached with Paterno, and was a close friend of Paterno.   The fact that Paterno didnt sever all ties with Sandusky after Sandusky admitted to showering and touching a ten year old boy, tells me Paterno is as sick a person as Sandusky.   Paterno should be fired immediately.

Well Ceeray, lets see if you can understand this.  Although Sandusky retired in 1999,  he still had an office on campus and still used  Paternos ( the teams ) facilities.   Even after Paterno testified last year in front of the grand jury about Sandusky, somehow Sandusky was still able to use his office and Paternos ( the teams ) facilities up until last week.   Paterno has known even before he testified last year what his friend and former player and coach had been accused of.  So, Paterno, as his former friend, coach and boss should have made sure he wasn't allowed to step foot on that campus ever again, especially where people are sending their children to go to school.  Paterno knew what his friend was accused of and somehow as late as last week Sandusky is working out in Paternos weight room.   What a travesty on so many levels.  They were all hiding it, and some of the children could have been saved if Paterno and company didn't cover it up.

They should televise when they bring Sandusky into the dorm in state prison for the victims, because you know it will be all bad for him.

Report: Alleged Sandusky victim number doubles

How can anyone say that Paterno did nothing about the incident?  He reported it directly to the AD - that's pretty much all he could do without bypassing the chain of command.

So if you were to see a co-worker raping a young boy in the bathroom at work, would you merely report it to your supervisor?  And then when you continued to see that same co-worker hanging out at your office for years afterward as if nothing ever happened, you wouldn't say anything?
