On Monday, Pennsylvania state police commissioner Frank Noonan and attorney general Linda Kelly encouraged alleged victims of former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky to come forward and assist the state's investigation. Noonan and Kelly publicized two phone numbers for the potential victims to call in order to contact investigators. One day later, it looks as if their call has been heard.

According to Fox 29 in Philadelphia, the number of alleged victims in the Sandusky case has doubled, and now approaches 20. As of Monday, Sandusky had been charged with indecent acts against eight minors.

Sources tell Fox 29 since a press conference on Monday, the number of potential victims has more than doubled in the case.

On Monday, Pennsylvania state attorney general Linda Kelly said the Sandusky case was consideried an on-going investigation and more charges could be coming.

According to the grand jury presentment, Sandusky's alleged sexual assaults on minors stretch back to his days as a Penn State coach, and more allegedly occurred in Penn State football facilities even after Sandusky had retired.

There have been no details about the new allegations publicized as yet, and though additional charges may yet be issued, Sandusky still faces the 40 charges he was issued on Friday. Thus, at this time the official facts about the Sandusky case remain the same.

Those with information have been asked to contact investigators from the Office of Pennsylvania Attorney General at 814-863-1053 or Pennsylvania State Police at 814-470-2238.

Chain of Command, buddy?

This ain't the Army, and State Penn's officials and coaches up and down the line were derelict in their moral duty to IMMEDIATELY act to protect minor children from rape.

What do you do when you see a murder being committed?  Call your boss?  No.  You call 911 IMMEDIATELY and report "Crime in progress at . . ."

THAT is how it should have been handled.

@ceeray, At that point, there is no chain of command except Citizen and Police. Paterno's not a detective, the A.D isn't a captain, and the School President isn't a District Attorney. Instead it turns out, Citizen rolled their eyes on another helpless Citizen. No excuses for any Penn State administrator can be accepted. PERIOD

Penn State……..State Penn

Anyone associated with the cover-up of these horrific crimes against children are as guilty as the perpetrator and belong in jail. We all have a legal AND moral obligation to protect children.

How can anyone say that Paterno did nothing about the incident?  He reported it directly to the AD - that's pretty much all he could do without bypassing the chain of command.  Paterno has referenced regrets about not doing more, but I think he may have been reasonably assured that the AD would take care of the situation.  Why would anyone expect the football coach to get more deeply involved in the situation that involved a FORMER assistant that had retired years earlier?

That's my concern too. How is this guy out on bond? Unbelievable. If he goes the typical cowardly route in these situations and kills himself, it will be a shame. He deserves to spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Lance Z confirmed on Houston radio this morning what I had heard a couple of years ago. Kylie Wong was on several years ago talking about a PSU player in the league who told Kylie, Joe Paterno sometimes showers with the team and even lathered up and washed dudes backs.  WTF?

I cannot imagine that a man could walk in on the rape of a 10-year old and not do something about it then and there.  I know it's easy to say "I would have" or "he should have", but I have to believe that had I walked in on such a situation, I would not have turned around and left.  There is an awfully lot of blame to go around concerning the lack action on the part of Penn State employees and officials.  Unconscionable!

Hey Sandusky; do everyone a big favor and go hang yourself from the goal posts.
This would be too good for this coward.

I understand what you said may be taken out of context but you can NOT say "If they dont have a clue then their parents are partially to blame for not educating them."  This is in NO WAY shape or form a parent's fault.  They trusted this foundation and this man was a sociopath who selected his victims with manipulation in mind.  I am sure these kids knew what was happening was wrong.  This is why they avoided him, tried to hide from him, etc.
