On Monday, Pennsylvania state police commissioner Frank Noonan and attorney general Linda Kelly encouraged alleged victims of former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky to come forward and assist the state's investigation. Noonan and Kelly publicized two phone numbers for the potential victims to call in order to contact investigators. One day later, it looks as if their call has been heard.

According to Fox 29 in Philadelphia, the number of alleged victims in the Sandusky case has doubled, and now approaches 20. As of Monday, Sandusky had been charged with indecent acts against eight minors.

Sources tell Fox 29 since a press conference on Monday, the number of potential victims has more than doubled in the case.

On Monday, Pennsylvania state attorney general Linda Kelly said the Sandusky case was consideried an on-going investigation and more charges could be coming.

According to the grand jury presentment, Sandusky's alleged sexual assaults on minors stretch back to his days as a Penn State coach, and more allegedly occurred in Penn State football facilities even after Sandusky had retired.

There have been no details about the new allegations publicized as yet, and though additional charges may yet be issued, Sandusky still faces the 40 charges he was issued on Friday. Thus, at this time the official facts about the Sandusky case remain the same.

Those with information have been asked to contact investigators from the Office of Pennsylvania Attorney General at 814-863-1053 or Pennsylvania State Police at 814-470-2238.

Paterno is only human along with Sandusky and if they are together then that is life.  Man can love man and be happy in a secret way behind closed doors, but to get the children involved and to cover-up conceal being pedophilas is a true disgrace to mankind.  They should be cesctrated and removed from the children's attention.

what I don't get is what was the motivation for covering for this guy. He was essentially meaningless to the program. The first allegation should have destroyed him and put everyone around him on watch. there has to be a reason why school officials didn't let him burn long ago. He must have something on these guys/the school/paterno

As has been so often stated by JoPa's apologists, "The man is Penn State Football." Well, of the man who is Penn State Football wanted Sandusky gone from all football facilities, then it would have happened in the blink of an eye. Don't you think that once, just once, Paterno might have said to somebody, "Hey, isn't that the guy we turned in in 2002 for phucking a kid in the shower? Why is he still here?" And here was there last week.

Pride comes before the fall and JoPa is a proud man.

You have no idea what Paterno was told.  Joe Paterno is not the one responsable for letting him walk around campus.  He wasnt a member of the football program he was a professor emmeratus.  The Univeristy President and the Board of Trustees bare that responsability.

Has it ever occured to you that Paterno washed his hands of Sandusky back in 1999 when Sandusky "retired".    After the first police investigation back in 1998 that the DA for whatever reason found insufficient evidence to file charges.  Is it possable Paterno told him he was no longer welcome in the football program.  Paterno and Sandusky barely spoke with one another to the point Paterno made a 60 second speech and apperance at Sanduskys retirement.

The easy thing to do is blame Paterno because we all want someone to blame in situations like this.  Paterno is the easy target because he has been made to be larger than life and holier than thou.  That was not his doing nor are these alleged sex crimes.  Contrary to popular belief Joe Patern does not run Penn State University the president does.

Until all the facts are known about what Paterno knew or didnt know I believe all the good he has done for the University should allow him at the very least due process.  Let us not forget who the real accused criminal is here in this matter.

Gatorcub81: Didn't like the game one bit. However that is Andy Reid's teams. They look great one week and the next week it is like they forgot how to play and coach. We were beat by the better team.

This whole story is just disgusting. It's one thing for schools to cheat and get caught, but this is on a whole different level. Penn State needs to clean house this is one of the most repulsive scandals in recent memory. The only thing that could even come close is Baylor basketball and that's not on par with what's coming out of Penn State.

To everyone else, I know I seem like im coming off pretty harsh on Paterno, but Im sorry I had my first kid in september and this whole situation just isn't sitting well with me.  I really believe that what was done was unforgivable and evil, and I believe that extends to all involved.
