Report: Judge had ties to Sandusky's charity

The Jerry Sandusky scandal in State College took an interesting turn over the weekend, when it was pointed out that the judge who released the former Penn State defensive coordinator on bail had ties to The Second Mile - the charity founded by Sandusky.

Sandusky was charged with 40 counts of sexually abusing children, targeting many of his victims through the organization set up for troubled youths. Prosecutors in the case requested $500,000 bail for Sandusky, but Judge Leslie Dutchcot allowed him to be freed on $100,000 unsecured bail.

Judge Dutchcot's biography on the website of the law firm Goodall & Yurchak previously listed her as a volunteer for The Second Mile. Since news of the ties between the district judge and Sandusky spread, it appears the law firm has opted to pull down all of their attorney and staff profiles from the website.

Dutchcot's ties to Sandusky probably should have been addressed publicly before presiding on the case. If is possible her volunteering could have had no direct contact to the alleged sex offender at all. However, dropping the bail to 20% of the prosecution's request and then pulling the biography from the law firm's website do not help Dutchcot's argument for being the right person to preside over this matter.

Report: Judge had ties to Sandusky's charity

Did anyone pay attention to PA Governor To Corbetts speech. He sasid he was ust waiting for this to come out. Just so happens Corbett was the PA Attorney General in 2002 and the invesagation crossed his desk and he had knowledge of all this and he is still in office while we are at it maybe he should be fired or arrested too. He had knowledge and did nothing he is just as guilty as everyone else for not opening his mouth and doing something. Another testimony of our elected officals and just how far our country has sunk into the  cespool it has become.

That's where it gets even more disgusting... I don't believe judges in Pennsylvania, at least at the level where Sandusky was arraigned, have to have legal degrees and are instead run for the office like any other slimy politician...

It looks like the actual ones that are supposed to enforce the law might be even more corrupt.  They had this guy before and now they have him again and yet the LAW still allows him to walk.

The judge in this case should have her license to practice law revoked.  The FEDs need to lock Sandusky up until his case goes to trial.

This thing gets worse by the minute. Is there anybody in the state of PA that is not part of this coverup? This thing will never go to trial. The powers that be cannot allow it. The authorities are probably hoping that Sandusky takes it upon himself to end this thing before it reaches higher and more powerful people.

I'm not sure how the law works in a case like this but hopefully the Feds will be running the show by the time he goes to trial,I don't trust the law in that area,didn't they decide not to prosecute him at a previous date....?
I don't trust the law in any area and it's that kinda corruption that allowed him to post 100k and walk with a crime like this. 40 counts of sexual abuse? How is that not a crazy high bail basically leading to him not getting bail because he can't pay it? Instead you allow a sex offender to rome free for a month.

As if there isn't a precedent to be suspicious of a judge handling a child case in pennsylvania. Remember kids for cash?

=============================

Now that you mention that, I wonder how many kids where sent there from Second Mile when Sandusky was there?

Report: Judge had ties to Sandusky's charity

Look at all the ties to the Second Mile Charity between Sandusky, Wendell Courtney, and millions of dollars.  Sandusky was allowed to have an office in the football building because Wendell Courntey the University attorney also represented the Second Mile Charity so in the best interest of the charity Sandusky operated under the PSU program, per cousel not Joe Paterno.  Time to blow this charity up.  I am sure a lot of good came out of the charity but it also harbored an alleged child molestor.
