UCLA was blown out 50-0 by USC on Saturday night to finish the season at 6-6 and 5-4 in the Pac-12, but thanks to some NCAA sanctions currently in place at USC, the Bruins will be playing in the inaugural Pac-12 Championship against Oregon on Friday. Which means that there's a chance the 6-6 Bruins could end up playing in the Rose Bowl.

Though it doesn't seem that is going to be enough to save Rick Neuheisel's job at the school. According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, Neuheisel will meet with UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero after the game to discuss his future at the school, and the report says the chances Neuheisel will retain his job are "bleak."

When Guerrero was asked about Neuheisel's job status on Saturday, he responded to a question about whether or not a Rose Bowl berth would be enough to save Neuheisel's job by answering "that we're preparing to play for the Rose Bowl should be exciting for all Bruins fans." An answer that doesn't exactly answer anything. When asked if he would bring Neuheisel back if UCLA reached the Rose Bowl, Guerrero ended the interview.

Neuheisel just finished his fourth season at UCLA, and he's 21-28 in that span.

Report: Neuheisel done after Pac-12 title game

Slick Rick is a "difference maker" for respected football programs and trashes them into subpar programs. He inherited a very strong McCartney-Colorado Buffs team and trashed it to go with his guitar playing to college coeds, lack of discipline for the football team, and lousy recruiting. Then he moved on to Washington and destroyed that program for a few years. Next is UCLA who will be reeling for the next few years of his recruiting mistakes. I hope Oregon drops 100 on slick Rick (nothing against UCLA) but he destroyed the program at Colorado, and that is something we won't forget. Maybe the scourge will move onto another cluless AD...his name alone will not get him a job anymore.

Report: Neuheisel done after Pac-12 title game

If you think last night was bad, don't be surprised if Oregon lays a 70 spot on Slick Rick to send him out in style.

Although the Pac 12 South division is a complete disaster (except for USC), it appears that Arizona, Arizona State, and UCLA are serious about taking steps to correct the obvious problems with their football programs.

Actually what is really sad are these conf. championship games to begin with. They are all about the money. Nothing else.

What's sad is the Pac 12 title game can't find a way to keep UCLA vs Oregon from happening ?

It's too bad it didn't work out. Neuheisel seems like a nice enough guy and an alum from the days when this program actually was top tier, but this team has not progressed an inch in the past four years. It's also pretty incredible how in all that time a former QB and QB coach like Neuheisel could not recruit a single capable quarterback to come play their home games at the Rose Bowl in the biggest city in the country that doesn't have pro football and have the opportunity to lead this program back to relevance.

Report: Neuheisel done after Pac-12 title game

Hiring an alum of your school to coach the football team has always had mixed results.  It was not exactly easy to see this coming; his Washington teams were good.

I guess they should have just kept Karl Dorrell.

With the end of Neuheisal's coaching career at UCLA marks the 3rd college program he has ruined. Perhaps the Ravens will take him back as QB coach. This is proof of Terry Donohue's decision to not recommend Rick as his replacement when he retired.

I hear Herm Edwards is gonna be our next coach.  Hopefully before the oregon game.  I was a big neuheisel supporter but to see his players give up on him like that, he needs to go
