One of the most wide-open Heisman races in recent memory has entered the final stage, with the finalists for this year's Heisman Trophy being named on Monday evening.

The following players will be in attendance for the presentation of the award in New York City, in alphabetical order:

Montee Ball, Wisconsin
Robert Griffin III
, Baylor
Andrew Luck, Stanford
Tyrann Mathieu, LSU
Trent Richardson
, Alabama

The iconic stiff-arm trophy will be presented to "the most outstanding player in collegiate football" on Saturday evening in the official ceremony hosted by the Heisman Trophy Trust.  The last time five players were finalists for the Heisman Trophy was 2009 when Mark Ingram, Toby Gerhart, Colt McCoy, Tim Tebow, and Ndamukong Suh all made the trip to New York.

if monte ball played against lsu, he would be lucky to gain 60 yds. running. as for your qb. wilson lsu would intercept at least 4 of his hot air baloons, get real man!!!

I cant even believe I'm going to reply to this post...

Problem is, we'll never know! in 2007 the New England Patriots were 17-0 and about to face the 11th seeded NY Giants in the Super Bowl. We all know what happened. Until there is a playoff, this whole systems stinks, including the Heisman!

Randy,
No, Ball does not have 2 losses.  Wisconsin has 2 losses.  Ball has 35 touchdowns.
This is an individual award...pay attention.

Hence, the Rug Doctor. Ball was well on his way to this season prior to the last 5 games, problem is, even his own athletic department&n
bsp;was promoting the wrong player (Wilson). Add to that, no Big Ten conference help and almost ZERO national media hype. He doesnt have a chance and that is pathetic.

What you are missing is that LUCK has no wide receivers to throw the ball too. USC has talented, talented WR's. That makes all the difference in the world. Also, Stanford is a run first team and Luck still that those stats.
Luck should win the Heisman hands down...

Big Cheese Play - I am truely amazed at how precisely you calculated the numbers yards gained by Hall (against lsu) and the number of interceptions by lsu against Wilson.  Would you share that formula with us?

Justin Blaxckmon and Matt Barkley are the two best college football players and are not going. The Heisman is not must watch tv. In fact, it is a joke.

@mike_d_tiger... I thought that would go under another comment.. Just because everyone smokes weed in college doesn't make it legal.
