Any fears about LSU missing key players for the national championship showdown with Alabama have been proven unfounded.

Miles announced at his Friday press conference that all members of the Tiger roster would be academically eligible for the postseason. Multiple outlets, including CBSSports.com, had reported that several players could have been in danger of missing the Alabama rematch with academic trouble.

"We have been able to determine there are no academic casualties," Miles said. "I don't think we've lost any guys in bowl prep at any school I've been at. It's a fundamental. They want to be there for the back end. It's a great incentive to do well."

The news will obviously be a huge relief to any worried Tiger fans, whose team will almost certainly need all hands on deck to fend off the challenge of the nation's No. 2 team in New Orleans Jan. 9. After opening as a one-point favorite, LSU is now a one-point underdog to the Tide according to Vegasinsider.com.

i love you excuse-"if not for blown coverages" haha.Thats the genuis of Saban. He reads defenses and adjusts accordingly.Thats the whole point. We moved the ball on you assholes the WHOLE GAME.Our wide reciever was throwing the ball and your all american secondary couldnt stop it,thats why.Talk about blown calls. That was a catch and everyone knows it.I wish you were a betting man, cause there is NO WAY in hell that LSU scores 38 on that D.The only points you guys will score will be thanks to you special teams and defense.
love to hear from you after the game, but im sure that i wont :)

Verbalexx, I'll break out my violin. LSU 150 yards rushing, Bama 100. If not for a couple of blown coverages on Trent, total yardage basically the same. BTW, why was your wide receiver throwing the ball if Bama was so dominating? NCG LSU 38 GUMPS 12 (4 field goals--go figure).

After the Ohio St fiasco in the Sugar Bowl last year, I doubt that grades will ever come into play again when it comes to eligibilty for the Bowl games anymore and it probably shouldn't. The playing field was laid out last year, money takes precedent over anything else. These kids have become nothing but pawns for the BCS/NCAA money machine. Just look at UCLA trying to hold out on giving players food money for skiping a "voluntary" workout to study for their finals. This not even involving a championship game but the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl featuring the 6-7 Bruins.

It's going to be great to see all the whining LSU fans when they lose. They should not have to beat Alabama twice in 5 weeks oh ... 26 weeks after the hibernation period for the Honey Badger. The whole BCS process is a sham. The SEC rules the football world and will continue to as the academic standards are far inferior when compared to the other big time conferences.

Is it me, or is there a general lack of respect for the nations number one team? According to what I read, we didn't beat Bama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama lost the game. Alabama moved the ball up and down the field on LSU. Let me tell you something, you can rack up 900 yards of offense, but if you can't put it in the end zone, or kick a field goal, it doesn't really matter does it? LSU has proven on the field of play, week after week after week, that they deserve the number one ranking. Yet we are underdogs in this game. I makes me mad that the media portrays Saban like some kind of coaching genius, and Les Miles as a somewhat goofy risk taker. Let's give credit where credit is due, at this time, LSU is the best team with the best coach, and will remain until someone beats them on the field of play. And one more thing, Eric Reids interception in the first game was a spectacular play, not a BS call. Can't wait for the big game. I know that when it's all said and done, no matter what, it's all going to be left on the field. Geaux Tigers.

I doubt it. It will not be the hghest rated game of the year, and LSU is the only team that is  great because they defeated more quality opponents than Alabama did this season.

Well of course they're ruled eligible, what do you expect from the Secret Eligible Conference, the only people watching this one will be idiots who live and go to those states and colleges.
