Over the weekend we learned that Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin got into a fight with wide receiver Curtis Drake, and that the fight had some scary consequences. Not only was McGloin knocked unconscious during the fight, but he also suffered a seizure and had to be hospitalized for a brief period.

McGloin has since returned to the team, and on Monday he took full responsibility for the fight with Drake.

"I'm willing to take full responsibility -- it was my fault," McGloin told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I started it, but as a quarterback for this university, I should be held to a higher standard. It should not have happened. I should've walked away from it.

"It was just two guys who are emotional about the game, who got into an argument."

McGloin said that the fight consisted of a few punches being exchanged, and that he slipped and hit his head on the concrete floor, which knocked him unconcious. McGloin also said that he had yet to speak to Drake since the incident.

As for how this will affect Penn State in its bowl game, McGloin has not yet been cleared to practice and failed a concussion test on Sunday. Interim head coach Tom Bradley said both players will face internal discipline, but also that he doesn't plan on naming a starter at quarterback before the bowl game. Penn State's other option is Rob Bolden, but Bolden is in a bit of hot water himself.

According to Bradley, Bolden was part of a "prank gone awry" and was cited for stealing a bottle of Gatorade from a convenience store on Friday. Though Bradley also said that Bolden's incident won't have any effect on his playing time.

McGloin says fight was his fault

60K students attend PSU and not all are involved but a good number of them rioted when the old bad of dust got dumped for enabling child rape over a period of about 10 years at a minimum.  They're morons for certain.  Countless alumni have stepped out to support JoePa or, even worse, Sandusky.  They're morons.  The original judge set almost not bail because of her ties to Penn State.  She's a moron.  Not everyone who went to Penn State are part of the incestuous and disgusting community that put football above children but a lot are and I, for one, support the broad generalization that everyone in Pennsylvania is stupid and loves football more than they love sanctity of a child's anus.

McGloin says fight was his fault

Ummm, can someone please take control of these football players and stop making excuses? Both players should be benched. Lets start the healing process for PSU. A zero tolerance should be placed on this school or it will be a laughing stock where the football program is concerned. Perhaps they should start recruiting at all the nation's juvenile detention facilities.

McGloin says fight was his fault

State Penn is struggling right now.  They are completely out of control.  I would kick Bolden off the team just for being a moron. Now, because of the circumstance there, everyone knows Bolden is a petty thief.

McGloin says fight was his fault

As a father of 3 kids on full athletic scholarships to 2 ACC sxhools and a SEC school.  This stuff happens everywhere.  Get over it and let them live.

As for the Sandusky stuff.  Just terrible if its true which it most likely is.  Its rather sad that they could not have gotten him in 98.  But laughing stock of the entire nation? What about the other 60K that attend the school.  Get a life buddy.  You are the laughing stock.  Get a life for real.  My entire family went to that school and enjoyed our time there.  There are 60K kids getting an education and one of them just maybe will operate on you at Hershey Medical center when you need it most.  Relax.  A crime was committed and everyone is working through it.  Really not a laughing matter.  Grow up!

McGloin says fight was his fault

Players fight all the time on all teams. The only reason it is in the news is because its Penn State.
Bingo.  This wouldn't have been news two months ago.

McGloin says fight was his fault

It is easy to say the following: "This is only in the news because it comes out of Pedophile State University". Well, yes, fights do happen all the time in locker rooms. But this time, it may have injured their qb for the bowl game. That's whats important here

McGloin says fight was his fault

Could someone please tell me how shoplifting could be called a prank gone awry?  Is that how Bolden described it?  Doesn't anyone under 25 understand the concept of admitting their mistakes instead of passing everything off as a misunderstanding?  Hey dumba$$es, you're not fooling anyone, just making fools of yourselves.  And like hell Santonio Holmes didn't know you can't use the ball as a prop in a td celebration.  Shame on Steve Smith for going to ground in his too.  Props to McGloin for protecting his teammate.
