Missouri and North Carolina will battle in Shreveport on Monday evening in the Independence Bowl, but unfortunately for both teams, Missouri mascot Truman the Tiger already got his hands on the Independence Bowl trophy. The problem is Truman couldn't keep his hands on the trophy for very long, as he dropped it and broke it. Those are the remnants of the trophy pictured above.

When asked if he broke the trophy, Truman nodded his head and when asked what happened he threw his hands in the air like he just didn't care, and then covered his eyes while crying. So, in the end, he did care.

This is what the trophy looked like before it was broken.

So Truman made a mistake.  Should he have been holding the trophy?  probably not.  I am a Mizzou fan and I am not putting Truman or the team down like some of you people on here.  He can learn by his mistake, the world is not going to come to an end just because he dropped the trophy.  I don't feel that ANYONE deserves to be slammed for this.  I bet this is not the first time something like that has happened and probably won't be the last.  Lets move on people, there are other things more trivial than this.

What? really?  A replacement?  This like totally ruins my day.  The Bowl would have been so much better, if the trophy handed out only had a shard of broken glass on it.

What remains of the Independence Bowl Trophy

For so many people not caring about this bowl....there sure are a lot of comments.  Either, a lot more people care than they want to admit....or they have no life and just want to try to get under other people's skins.  If you truly don't care then why would you take the time to post something negative about a game you "don't care" about?

What remains of the Independence Bowl Trophy

Here is a different look at this I bet the Indepence Bowl is happy this happened.  How much publicity was this bowl game going to get before this happened.  I mean its on the Duece and not even on prime time (MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL BABY) Yet on every website this is coming up.  I bet there are some people tune in who don't care about either team just to laugh and mock.  I know I might.

What remains of the Independence Bowl Trophy

Mascots have got to be the most asinine thing in organized sports.  They're annoying, they add nothing to the game, and for those that make the case that they appeal to young kids...do you honestly think a young kid is going to want to sit through a 3 hour football game because there's a goofy-@$$ tiger running around?  If you do, you've clearly never had children.

They should make that thing out of plastic, who would care?  Just grab that vase from under my sink cabinet and superglue that mama jama to the cheesy wood base ya got there. I actually got to hold the motor city bowl trophy, it was pretty nice and heavy, why?

They did have a replacement on hand and the trophy has been repaired. Nice comment considering you have no idea what's going on in Shreveport. You know what they say...When you assume, you make an ass out of you and, well, just you.

There should be a Wal-Mart around the corner from the stadium where the organizers can buy a cheap piece of crystal......
