There's nothing quite like Nike's Pro Combat Uniforms and Oregon's football team. Together, they're in a whole new category when it comes to uniforms.

The former unveiled the latter's uniforms Tuesday morning as the Ducks prepare to take on Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. The technology behind the uniforms debuted last season in Oregon's uniforms in the national championship game and will make their way to the school's threads in their third consecutive BCS game on January 2nd. Pretty sharp (at least as far as Ducks uniform standards go) if you ask me.

“Nike’s relationship with the University of Oregon represents a forward-thinking approach to innovation and design. Our goal is to help build better athletes by providing them with state-of-the-art-innovation combined with a deep knowledge and understanding of their heritage” said Todd Van Horne, Nike’s Creative Director for Football. The latest Nike Pro Combat system of dress uniform delivers more on-field performance benefits than ever before while pushing the limits on creativity and design. The Oregon Ducks truly represent Nike's approach in developing athletes from the inside-out.”

Oregon won the program's only Rose Bowl in 1917 and lost the last time they were in Pasadena to Ohio State. They - and uber-booster and Nike boss Phil Knight - are hoping 2012 results in a not only new uniforms, but a win as well.

“Oregon represents the gold-standard when it comes to merging science and innovation with athletic performance and we are excited to continue our partnership with Nike by unveiling the next iteration in uniform innovation for the Rose Bowl” said Chip Kelly. “Nike always starts by listening to the voice of the athlete as they continue to bring the most intuitive technology to the game.”

You can view full resolution photos of the uniforms and more information on Nike's website and Facebook page. Bottom line where you like them or hate them, is that Phil Knight is a genius.  Since Oregon launched multiple uniforms, colors, etc, all (or many) other colleges are getting on board.  It's all about the money, always has been always will.  Instead of selling one hat with one color, you now can sell 25 hats with different combo's.  Add in t-shirts, golf shirts, workout gear, etc and the increases revenue by having different color schemes goes up exponentially.

Do you really think Oregon just likes have a million uniforms?

Basic theory on if you like Oregons uniforms.

If you are under the age of 30, you probably like them, because you still like shiny things.

If you are older than 30, you probably don't, because you don't like football uniforms that look like Japanese Anime $%&*#!

SC_Dynasty_5: The Trojans have had another uniform style.  Check the Marcus Allen days.  Here's another "TRADITION" you guys have there at USC: degenerates.  OJ Simpson killed 2 people and wrote a book about it.  Maybe one of you USC slobbers can tell me: Does the school get to put Reggie Bush's Heisman trophy in their display case now that he gave it back?  Maybe the 2 of them can go over Mark Sanchez house and have sex with 16 and 17 year old girls, too.  Those are nice traditions you guys have.

PS, that schools the reason why I use Durex.

Love em or hate em, it's all about attracting recruits and generating revenue in gear sales. Big money fuels the big programs.

Always been a fan of the dynamic unis of Oregon, keeps it exciting. I wish other teams would follow suit and tinker with other uni patterns, like the boring USC, Stanford and even Ohio State, it's fixin to be 2012, lets look like it!

Amen brother!  The MICKEY MOUSE high school offenese of Oregon will be reduced to the scrap heap of history.
The SC dynasty is and will rise again.  Not even the National Communists Againsts Athletes, (NCAA) could keep SC down long.
Maybe if Oregon worried more about winning championships and less about uniforms they would have racked up a title or two while USC was out of the picture.  SC has one road and one home uniform that has seemed to work for many years. It s called TRADITION!
Oregon has no tradition, therefore they rely on gimmicks. (see their offenese)
